You do realize that you're advocating for the elimination of college recruiting, Texags, and 50% of ESPN's business model, right?
Anyways, I just did all this great research on the past 5 years worth of doubles (5A/4A Mixed and Girls) champions have done in college, but IE decided to erase it. Since I'm not going to do it again, I'll post it in summary:
Overall, the doubles champions perform very well at the college level. They're rarely number 1's at the major d-1 level, but some (Sam Adams Texas Tech, and a girl with an unpronouncable name who's now at Harvard) were dominant last year as number two's as freshmen/sophomores respectively.
5A have better results than 4A's, and there are several who either didn't work out D-1 or played for smaller schools, but all-in-all, they've done very well.
Kilgo was the 4A mixed champion with her brother last year. History points to her being at least a decent bottom-of-the-lineup as a freshman, though no guarantees.
