He won this year's 500. In 40+ years of watching/being a fan of motorsports, that was the most spectacular and horrific crash I have ever seen. RIP.

Horrible crash and tragic result. Just a bad mix of super high speed and dangerous track. Those indy cars don't have the kind of chassis protection that a nascar affords and they are going about 35 to 40 MPH faster. I'm honestly shocked no one else was killed in that crash.
