Solid dual meet win.

My take on the notables:

- Breeja's times were outstanding early season swims. I don't remember when whe was under 1:01 last year, but I bet it wasn't October.
- A&M owns distance events
- divers were strong
- our sprints were....um.....

I was more impressed with the 2:10...that is stupid fast for a first meet...there aren't 10 girls that will go that fast at NCAA's...can't wait to see how fast she goes at the end of the year.

The divers are going to be awesome. Our depth is incredible there. The hiring of Lerew is one of the best moves our program has ever made.

Miller beating Bouchard in the 100 back was impressive. Those are two of the best backstrokers in the country; always nice to win that battle. Adams had some nice swims too.

Agree with you on sprint free. Who knows where Ibanez is training-wise having just come back from Pan Ams but man is she going to need some help. Our run of blazing sprint freestylers is at an end for now it appears. We're going to need some folks to step up at some point. If you want to be swinging with the big girls at NCAA's, you've got to score significant points in the freestyle relays. They are simply too important to write off.

All that said, everything else was solid and we handed what should be a top 20 Missouri team their head.

Going forward, Leah Gingrich's annual fall taper seems to be going well again this year. That could prove a problem in the LSS dual meet. I thought the quote from Brackin in their press release against IU and Michigan was odd to say the least.

Bispo will likely swim three individual events and, based on recent results, their relays are going to be tough too. We'll likely have to sweep diving, back and fly and have the Breejanator do her thing to have a chance at getting them. Would be huge to grab the 500 and/or the 1000. Could be the difference.

Which Brackin quote? The one about Gingrich "focused and happy?" That was weird because it suggests Gingrich wasn't happy at some point. But you're right she always seems to swim fast in the fall.

Our medley relays should be strong, but will be in trouble without a better freestyle leg. Ibanez swam in the PanAm games just last week, right? But we had zero flat start 50s under 24 secs. Interesting which freshmen got to race.

Maybe we need Miller or McElhany in some of those races. I noticed that McLaine's 400 free relay split was easily the fastest of the Aggies.

I hope the Ags can take the last Big12 dual meet with Texas this week!

Yes, that quote. Publicly implying she wasn't happy at some point is just plain dumb. She should be smart enough not to say that and the SID ought to be smart enough not to print it even if she did. If I was recruiting against her, I'd be on that one like bees on honey (not that there aren't beaucoup reasons already).

Has Kenda Chernoff left the team? She is not on the 2011-2012 roster

The McLaine split on the relay was incorrect.

Yes, she is no longer there.

LOB - what's the story on Chernoff?

@Spice - I believe she wants to make a run at the Canuck olympic team and felt she had a better chance at making it by living and training in Canada during the run up to trials.

As to whether she returns afterwards, I have no idea.
