Uhoh, Hansen back, Crocker in the drug-testing pool, Peirsol has never left the USADA pool....Texas Trio reunited??

My Masters coach is a Texas swimming alum. He told me this summer that Crocker was in the pool training quietly with the intent of going to Trials. To do that he has to register for doping controls because you can't show up at Trials without having all the normal training related doping tests.

As for Peirsol - he says Peirsol really isn't training now and has no plans to return to racing. He says Peirsol is never slow, and can get fast with minimal training. Hence his good times at the Fastest Man in Texas.

Hansen was fast at LC nationals last summer. It was obvious he is serious. I think the US men are relatively slow in breaststroke now. So far it doesn't look like the move to CA for Shanteau has helped him. So Hansen might not have a difficult time getting to London.

I coached with Brendan 2 summers ago for a developmental swim team in Austin (he almost got Peirsol to come to a practice which would have been awesome) and talked to him last summer after he started training again to wish him luck in getting ready for the trials

He is a really cool guy and I hope to be cheering for him next summer during the Olympics (even though he went to that other school)

Just about all of the big boys that swim/swam at Texas are cool guys. Same with Eddie Reese.

Crocker is the odd duck of the bunch.

Neil Walker was another good one. Nice as hell. Nate O'Brien and Christian Schurr are two I know fairly well. Part of this is just swimmers being swimmers.
