Aggies track team had a great day yesterday at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium. The 2012 team is an exciting blend of experience and some talented underclassmen. They had a mile run womens 27 yr record broken. Men finish 1-2 in the 800 meter run. New school record in the pole vault. The relay teams had a great day and there are some promising young sprinters and hurdlers on this team. It was particularly exciting to see the AG middle distance runners have such a great day especially against Baylor that is traditionally very strong in this area.
If you haven't had the pleasure of getting over to the Gilliam Indoor facility yet please do yourself a favor. A&M has one of the premier indoor facilities in the WORLD and this track team is what A&M and being an Aggie is all about. A&M has arguably the best track coaching staff in the country and the athletes are a special credit to the university.
Dual meet next week with one of our premier future SEC rivals LSU. Lets pack the Gilliam track and show LSU what they have to look forward to next year. While there check out all the National Championship trophies, they are awesome.
