What is the team line-up going to look like this season. Any chance at a conference title? How about a chance to go to the NCAA tournament? How about a little 411 from those in the know.

Look on ITA site--they rank college tennis teams. You can google it with out much of a problem. If I remember right we are ranked 11th. Baylor is ranked a head of us. Last year they won season and we won tournament. We will probably go to tournament.

SEC is tough--Georgia is always good. So it will not get easier next year. Steve Denton is doing a great job. Even though he was a NCAA championship as a t-sip.

This year is going to be very interesting. It will be fun to watch Klegou at the #1. Since Austin has had that spot on lockdown for a few years, the question becomes can some of our highly rated recruits really step up their game. Withrow red-shirted last year... 9th rated junior coming out of HS. Efferding will also be new to the roster, another blue chip. These two could have some impact. As well as Ore, who showed some flashed last year.

I hope we get to see more of John Lewis. He transferred from Alabama, but never really cracked the top 6 for big time matches. I met his mom at a match. Couldn't have been nicer.

I'm going to miss watching Austin/Jeff at the 1/2 spots, but we have some really talented kids on the team... Fun year for sure!

blake basically has it covered....we were playing with a pat hand last year with Austin, Jeff, and Alexey at 1-3. Klegou will get his shot at 1 and if he stays healthy will be fine...lots of young talented guys will get a shot at stepping up....should be fun to see them develop...probably a little drop off this year, but with the guys Steve and Bob are bringing on board next year, we should be really good for the forceable future...

I think a "fun year" is the perfect way to describe it. Probably not a ton of pressure, but more of a go-out and see what happens sort of season; whereas in past years there were big time Big12/NCAA expectations. Not that they won't be putting the same pressure on themselves this year...

I think kids will step up. We have talent and we have great coaching - we will find a way to put it together.

Anyone planning on going to the Texas match in Houston on February 10th?

When your prior year number 4 is slotted to play number one, it's going to be a long season.

Great write up!

The Fall success may be a predictor of good things to come. Losing two All-Americans at 1&2 is always going to be difficult, but a good problem to have.

I didn't know that Alberto was out... that could hurt us a little.

They will be lucky to be top25 this year. Sounds like they will be better next year.

I was at today's match until I left for BB game when the single's matches were in the second set. Aggies beat U LaLa 5-2. Doubles looked good . But ULL also looked good. The team looked better than I expeced especially since Klog was did not play since he had to miss a regular game since he played in ITA National Indoor. Jr Ore has steped up his game. He lost the set. The fish all looked good. Batista's back is acting up and may be redshirted.

Berto will be getting a medical redshirt this year. Probably will have surgery before long.

based on scores from Miami and from today's match looks like we will be solid at 4, 5, and 6 with a mix of Efferding, Szabo and Withrow filling the roles. Szabo was unbeaten in Miami and today. Hoover also seems to be doing well.

Blake, 2/10 I'm just down the street so count me in. XLaggie, you're funny or are you just not very bright? Do you intentionally say things to incite an argument? Our boys have as good a chance to do well this year as last. Yes, we lost three OUTSTANDING players in Austin, Jeff, and Alex but Goo has a serve to die for and his volley game has come up a lot. So to move from 4 to 1 in a year isn't that much of a stretch, it's a coach's dream to have that kind of talent down in the lineup to step up when the time arrives.

The good news is is that the Big 12 isn't that strong this year. Baylor has too many new parts. Texas is down and Tech lost a lot from last year. Oklahoma is the class of the league this year

This weekend will tell us a lot. With MissSt bringing back everyone from last year, we'll see how we stack up. We beat them 4-3 last year, and it was all of that close. Should be fun! AND GREAT WEATHER!

Aggies win and looked good!

Impressive performance by the Aggies. The doubles point was wrapped up really quickly. Only one of the doubles matches(the one that ended prematurely because the point had been decided)were close.

The singles were much the same with the exception of Withrow's match. He dropped his match in three sets, but by that point, the result had already been decided.

Really looking forward to seeing the guys take on MSU tomorrow afternoon. Purdue is a pretty solid team, but MSU is a big step up.

After going up 6-0 on the 3rd Doubles court they lost 4 in a row. On serve the Aggies were down 0-30 and I thought we were on the way to a big melt down. Luckily they turned it around and went on to win. Good mental focus.

I watched 4&6 singles most of the time. Was extremely impressed with Efferding. When he gets his first serve in consistently he is dangerous. His opponent got mind effed after a few non-play activities (Aggie coach walking around, some sort of discussion from the chair about something he kept saying, and some nonsense about Efferding putting his hand up web he wasn't ready.) After that he was done and Efferding cruised.

I was really glad to see Lewis in the lineup. Does he always work hard to avoid his backhand? Seemed like it today. He played well and was never in danger of losing. Early on he'd let the Purdue player back in the game after going up, but could still pull through.

Excited to watch tomorrow.

The guys looked pretty good today against a very average team. Tomorrow will be a true indicator of how good they really are going to be this year. I wish them well but have some serious doubts about tomorrow and the team in general.

Wow. Virginia hosts Texas on Friday, Florida on Saturday, and us on Sunday. Texas is the lowest ranked team at #14. Who scheduled that? Maybe they'll be so exhausted by Sunday we an pull an epic upset.

UVA beats Texas 7-0 and Florida 6-1.

Looked like two singles matches were competitive against Florida. They only dropped on doubles match between both contests. We'll need a lot of things to go correctly to pull this one off. UVA won their 90th straight at home. Wow.

Aren't Virginia's matches being played indoors?
