Just a reminder that the mens team takes on Mississippi State this afternoon at 3 at the Mitchell Tennis Center with the winner advancing to Charlottesville for the National Indoor Championship....
State is a very good team, and this will be our hardest match so far this season....trying to get a big crowd to support these Aggies....we are young, but talented team...lots of new faces in the lineup, but they compete very hard...a big crowd will surely help....

Also, bring a heavy jacket. The combination of slightly cold weather and a brisk wind are ridiculous!

Agreed on the jacket...while I think it will be slightly warmer and less windy than yesterday....it still can be pretty chilly, especially toward the end of the afternoon....

all home matches are streamed online, if you go to the mens tennis page on aggieathletics, scroll down and on the left side there is a "Live Coverage" that will take you to it. the princeton/purdue matches are either finished or in 3rd sets. hopefully things will go right for a quick ending

Epic match going on. 3-3 with the 3rd set at #2 singles (Colin Hoover vs Miss St.'s #79 James Chaudry) to decide it.

This team is up for some great things this year. Great win tonight!

Hoover wins the 3rd set 7-5 and the Ags win 4 -3. Really a great match.

Wow, great to see that win for Hoover. Looks like his "fight" is turning into some seriously positive results.

Incredible match! The atmosphere was great, even when it ended up being a hundred or so hearty souls during the final points of the deciding match.

During the last few games of the second set and throughout the third set that Chaudry of MSU was the better player. He was hitting winners and was getting a higher % of his first serves in and he looked like the fitter player, but Hoover kept fighting.

You also had to love the effort of Jeremy Efferding at #4 singles. He lost the first set 1-6, came back and won the second set 6-0. The third set went to a tiebreaker. He trailed 6-4, but then came back to win the next four points to take the final set and set up Hoover to win the deciding match.

Kudos also to Gou, who looked good on #1 singles and the team of Ore and Withrow, who took down MSU's #1 doubles team, a team ranked in the ITA top 20.

The mental toughness by Efferding was pretty awesome. Down 6-4 I completely wrote him off but wow what emotion to come back.

Favorite moment was after Hoover lost the tie break in the second set one of the MSU players yelled down "JUST LIKE LAST YEAR!" Ironically, this is exactly what I yelled at him walking out.

Very promising start. Lewis looked solid again at 6. Withrow was really the only player never in his match. He has tons of upside... Hopefully he can put it all together.

Such a great night. It was everything that's great about college team tennis. Looking forward to many more fun matches this year.

I am very proud of colin hoover...and he knows it...

MSU might be one of my least favorite teams. I don't think I enjoy beating anyone more than them (aside from Kellen D'Amico, of course).

I don't understand how they can yell "Just like last year." We beat them last year in the same event. Idiots.

Glad we pulled out the win. I texted Hoover last night and told him we think he just loves the drama of playing in a 3rd set of the deciding match.
