I watched most of the Rice match today and was very impressed with the play considering it was a very windy day. Rice was very strong at #1 & #2 and not bad throughout the lineup. The doubles was extremely exciting to say the least and clutch by the seniors at #3 doubles. The women all seem to be playing well and fighting hard and also representing themselves and Texas A&M very well! Joffe and Weaver seem to really work well together and they are doing a great job with the girls. I am looking forward to the future of our program!

Good job today Lady Ags! Happy for Joffe and the crew! Kudos to Sheri Olivier! If she could start playing well that could be huge for the Ags. Weaver did a good job in the middle stage of second set of the Olivier match to calm her down as it seemed the Rice girl was starting to catch some steam. Hope the girls can keep up their winning ways!

That's always been the book on Olivier - keeping her calm when she misses a few shots. Seems like she's getting that under control as a senior. Lauren is probably also a great partner for her for just that reason.

6-1? Things are turning around for the women. Joffe/Weaver seems to be a great combination. Let's hope it lasts on both parts. Would be great to put together a few good seasons quickly to keep that pair around (rather than either moving to greener pastures out west).

The team is doing great! Looking forward to getting a chance to watch them play at TCU on Monday. Keep up the good work Ags! Hopefully we all can avoid all the drugheads on campus!

Not to take anything away from the ladies win, but Rice is #68 in the nation. Not exactly a highly ranked team. We SHOULD beat them 6-1

The Lady Ags' record this season is 6-1. They won the match 5-2.

Also they beat #27 Washington last week, but nobody wanted to talk about that...

Washington was a good win, Rice was one we should expect at 5-2. Sorry I messed up the score.

Gonna be interesting once Big 12 play comes around. Tech may surprise some teams, and with Baylor being down, playing a walkon at the bottom at times, their reign may end

Looking at the ranking rice is 69? lol hth.

pretty sure Baylor's current number 6 is not a walk on and that all their injuries have healed by now

It's just that Baylor doesn't seem to have depth this year. Texas, OU, and Tech are also teams that should be near the top of the conference.

The score was 5-2, but the 2 matches the Aggie Women lost were in a 3rd set super tiebreaker so to say that we should have won 6-1 is a little bit much! The match could have just as easily been 6-1 or 7-0 for that matter. Regardless of the score I think the team is doing extremely for the level of players on the team. Santacroce, Cutbertson, and Olivier is a pretty bad 4,5, and 6. If the recruiting is as good ad I have heard for next year the team will be doing some great things soon!

This recruiting class will be easily the best in womens tennis history for us. Sun Wen may be playing 6 next year and if we can stay healthy we should be a top 10 team.

Aggie women beating TCU 4-0 right now, improve to 6-1 on the season.

Watched most of the TCU match. The doubles was amazing to say the least! #2 doubles saved several match points to come back and win. #1 doubles was just as exciting. The girls really put in on them in the singles. Sanchez is very impressive to say the least! The other girls played very good as well. Keep it rolling Ags!

Seeing these girls play this year I get the feeling they CAN have a higher gear they can throw themselves into if they get their backs against the wall. Lauren has been by far the nicest surprise so far, and the fact that we're showing that, "Never say die" attitude no matter what the score almost brings tears to my eyes. Great heart and determination going on here guys, keep up the great work.

Reading Good Will's note, a couple of things: 1. This early in the season rankings are more guess work than actual talent shown on the court, and 2. Rice for whatever reason can and most likely always will be a real pain in the behind to play. Mark made the comment a few years ago after the girls won a match that could be classified as one of the "not the prettiest match ever played", "Playing Rice is like playing in the sandbox, it just gets dirty."

PLEASE PEOPLE, if you're in the College Station area PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come out support and cheer these girls on. They feed on us as much as we feed on their success. Plus, our opponnets most of them never see anywhere close to 100 people at their matches the intimadation factor of having 400 to 500 Aggies yelling after every point in the stands works to our kids benefit. Come on 12th Man, let's put our money and our voices where our heart ought to be, at the Mitchell Tennis center.

signem is right. I was never into tennis before going to A&M tennis. It's like a whole different sport when it's a team thing. It's more fun than you could imagine - and with 6 matches going on, there's always something to watch. Even better, you know the girls hear each and every person who yells for them.

signem- are you the guy with the signs?? I get it!

AGBlastoff, are you talking about that big goofy guy that sits down front and has those IN YOUR FACE signs? Funny guy, I've talked to him a few times. He keeps trying to come up with different 1 liners on service break opportunities.
Good Will Hunting
How long do you want to ignore this user?
sign guy is annoying and disruptive. They need to tell him to shutup.

One match a few years back against tu, he kept yelling "oh, 39, oh, oh, 39." No one had a freaking clue what he meant. Turns out the girls ranking was 39. Anytime there was a close call, he made an inappropriate comment. It took all I had to not tell the guy to shutup or leave. It was embarrassing.

^^^harsh, tennis drama.

I've never spent significant time down at the CCC, so from where I'm at, he seems like a positive factor.

Baylor loses to Tech, and does have a volleyball girl on their roster. Crazy

GoodWill, if the sign guy is annoying you just tell him, he seems accomodating enough to me. Plus, I remember the incident you mention. I also heard that Bobby asked him to chill it after the fact. Bobby felt he was actually motivating that sip to perform better, and if you'll notice he hasn't done anything like that since. But he's also told me Mark (especially) and Howard appreciate what he does as far as keeping the girls motivated with his encouragement and those signs. Bottom line, he just seems like a guy who wants the program to excel and he sees what he's doing as helping us get there.

Sign Guy screws with the opponent's head all the time. He drives them nuts! I have never seen him do anything inappropriate. He is just really loud!

Women jump to #15! Highest ranking since 2007, when they were #14!

Currently dominating William and Mary, trying to tie record win streak. Say what you want about competition levels, but this team is DEFINITELY on the right track. Excited to see them kick off conference play. Should be some great matches.

Michigan match today cancelled. Tough break, would've been another good test. Michigan ranked #24, could've boosted the ranking as well.

Women win 6-1 over K-State. Should be another roll against Kansas. Then the real party begins.

I think we have a real shot against #11 Baylor who is playing with injuries and squeaked by KSU and KU both 4-3 last week.

They are weak at #5 and #6 and this will be the first time we are favored in those spots vs Baylor since the Clinton administration. They are also weak in doubles. Their #1-#4 are phenomenal and we are likely dropping the 4 spot. I would say Baylor is also favored at 3 and slightly at 2 but Cristina is playing lights out and can beat anyone at 1.

Any match like this can go either way and they have home court advantage but I'm going to call us slight favorites overall and it's just nice to be able to finally say that.

Great job to Coach Joffe and Co. - superb hire.

Amazing year so far! Hope the girls can keep it up! They deserve all the praise in the world! In my opinion, they are not getting nearly the amount of credit they deserve on these forums! Keep it up Lady Ags!

Christina has a chance for redemption/revenge against the girl from Baylor. That girl is one of the few who've taken Chris to 3 sets and one of the fewer who have actually beaten her. My bet is Chris will be seeing red until the last ball goes into the net. Naz is going to have her hands full, no doubt, as is Sunny. This is Janelle's chance to shine. Fortunately playing in the evening the heat won't be as much of a factor as it was this Sunday. I believe Janine is playing #6 against Baylor and if she gets up a head of steam like she did against BYU, WATCH OUT! Patience and cunning ladies. This one is your's for the taking, the 12th Man will be pulling for you. There may even be some former players come in for the match.
