FWIW, Ags still have a chance to win the final one, even though down 3-8 currently:

April 14: Men's tennis
April 17: Women's tennis
April 27-29: Softball, baseball, W golf, M golf
May 11: Outdoor Track M & W

There is no sport above where we don't have at least a decent shot at winning.

We'll probably be favorites in 4 of those, with the other 4 rated as toss-ups.

We can lose one sport of the 7 and still win it.

There is no longer a split of softball as women went to 3 game series.

Would have to have an amazing finish to pull this out, but either way, it's goodbye to texas university, HELLO SEC!!!

I see that now. In fact, the 'sips (your sips?) are ranked ahead of Ags in most of those remaining sports. Likely about a 4-4 finish.

we really did not expect any different outcome this year. After we lost an easy one on turkey day. Our girls basketball loses to them--which is terrible. Mens bball was bad. Not a great year for Aggies but we are outa here and in the SEC

W Basketball is what killed us- even a split would mean that we would actually be sitting here now as at least even money to win the whole thing.

We need an upset in men's golf taking down #1 t.u., but we have the #13 team in the country and its possible. Softball and baseball are a crapshoot. Womens golf we'll be a slight favorite, and outdoor track a larger favorite (though not a shoo-in) We have zero room for error due to W basketball failure (yeah, that WAS a failure getting swept) and football fiasco.

I guess men's BBall *feels* like a failure to get swept too based on pre-season projections...although when you look watched the team we put on the floor, not so much.

I thought men gave gutty effort in both games and dealt w/ lot of adversity. W on other hand- no excuse (either from preseason expec or post-season hindsight.). It happens though and they finished strong.

Uhoh - don't look now #15 A&M has a 12-stroke lead versus #1 Texas at Big 12 gold championships (men). Midway through third and final day. 6-stroke lead over Tech, who's in second.

Baseball up 1-0, Softball crushed Texas in game 1...

Still in it??

It is the second day. They still have 18 to play tomorrow and the lead is not safe.

Softball blew a golden opportunity, but still have one more shot tomorrow.

If you believe the Ags will sweep outdoor track, the virtual score now is 9-7, with this thing to be decided tomorrow:

Men Golf up 9 strokes with 1 rnd left.
W Golf up 1 stroke with 1 rnd left.
Softball split 1-1 with deciding game tomorrow.

About as close as you can get. You have to be extremely proud of the way all our teams have battled this weekend.

Men's golf just clinched it- came down to final hole with us up 1.

Now up to the softball and lady golfers!

Ladies didn't cut it.

Yeah, in golf, the 'sips shot a really incredible +8 the last day, compared to +19 (a&M), 16, 17, 17, and 20 by the other top 5 teams. What's amazing is that they shot a +45 the first day, then lowered it to +18 the next.

Ags went 38, 24, 19

In softball, it appears Coach Jo guessed wrong twice by not trusting her other pitchers- once by leaving in Dumezich when she was tiring, and giving up a 6-1 lead. Next, by taking out Ainsley when trailing 2-1, and putting in Dumezich, who gave up back to back homers on first two batters.

That was a tough one, but the girls played well.

Looks like we'll finish 8-11. Perhaps the takeaway to see how far this program has come- it feels like we had a horrific year, blew games and matches we should have had, and yet the margin is still a few strokes here and a swing of the bat there.

On to greater things now!
