How do these countries qualify their relay teams? Rita, Lilly and Erica would make up most of a pretty good medley relay, however, no relays are contested at Trials.

Maroon Swimmer - Mexico hasn't yet qualified any relays for the Olympics. The only one they swam at Worlds last year was the 800 FR, and they were 17th in that. Top 12 at Worlds qualified, then the next best 4 between Worlds and...June 1 I believe.

Right now, that's Finland's 4:08.47. That time could improve at the European Championships.

The best leg of the relay is actually Maria Gonzalez, who was under 1:01 in the 100 back in Columbus. If you add up the times you get 1:01 + 1:11 + 1:00 + 55.5 = 1:07.5 in a good scenario. That would put them in, if they hit it.

If they want to go after it, they'll probably time trial it at the meet sometime. But Gonzalez hasn't been very good at this meet - clearly in heavy training - so they might not hit that time.

If we can get a couple of the A&M girls to make the US Olympic team, and I think they will, this summer will be fun to watch in London. Texas A&M could have girls from Canada, Croatia, Estonia, Mexico and Austrailia. Go AGS

Omar and Sarah Henry are entered in the Charlotte Ultraswim meet next week which makes me wonder two things: 1) Could Omar use times there to qualify? 2) Is UltraSwim still a thing?

1) Times there will be "considered". Mexico has a new National Team coach, and I haven't seen a formal announcement of qualifying standards yet.

2) Yes, but Wendy's pulled out as the big sponsor, so the $50,000 purse is gone.
