Anyone want to guess the lineups for next year with all the new highly recruits coming in and with Bautista coming back?

I think the new addition, Joshua Ward-Hibbert will be very good.

My prediction:

1. Mitchell Krueger - likely the top freshman in the nation
2. Junior Ore
3. Jeremy Efferding
4. Joshua Ward-Hibbert
5. Shane Vinsant
6. Alberto Bautista
7. Jackson Withrow

Talking about a young deep lineup. Exciting!! Anyone know if we are hosting the SEC Championships next year? I thought I read that somewheres.

I don't think they're officially announcing hosts until after their next big meeting. I know A&M was "unofficially" supposed to host the 2013 SEC Championships in swimming, but it wouldn't be official until after the meeting.

Lots of question marks with Bautista's back, Kreuger or Ore going pro (neither should but very possible), but I could definitely see a lineup similar to that.

Really need 1 of angus, withrow or szabo to really step it up and this team could be really good next year. The SEC is really deep in tennis, so their should be a lot of fun matches in the coming years.

Ward-Hibbert has huge upside... he's going to be fun to watch.

Our class was ranked 4th without him.

I saw where Ward-Hibbert got to the quarters in Juniors at the Australian. Where does it look like he'll play next year? Top 3?

This explosion of form was not expected.

With these recent performances, it would be a surprise to me if he is wearing maroon and white in the fall. I hope I am wrong.

Krueger pretty much has to go pro at this point. With the run that he has had recently, you have to turn down serious paychecks to play college tennis.

His record in pro tournaments isn't that great. Not sure what paychecks you are talking about turning down. I think if he is that good, he should go to college for a year. Win it all, like Devin Britton of Ole Miss in 09, and go pro. A year of college tennis can't hurt you.

Unless Krueger has some major sponsor or endorsement money lined up, he's not looking at big paychecks unless he gets to top 50 or better in the wolrd pretty quickly and he's a long,long way from that at this time. He shoud play college tennis and see how he does. If he can dominste at the college level and win some sattelites then go pro otherwise get a good education and enjoy the college experience.

Does anyone know how USTA funding of juniors works?

Seems like a real conflict of interest when it comes to kids deciding whether to go pro or college.

USTA is likely investing quite a bit of money in these juniors and in some cases, would not want to interrupt their investment by turning over these highly ranked juniors to college coaches.

I can see this scenario:
USTA - we will fund your training, travel, etc, etc for the next XX years in the pro circuit now. But, if you go to college, then we can't guarantee you will get any $$$ help w/ the pro circuit.

I wasn't saying it was the right decision, but if he wants to be a pro tennis player it is hard to do so through the college game. I just scrolled through the top 100 players right now, I counted three guys who played in college.
