Day 1 was not a great day for the Ags. Men are still in the team race but must have UF and FSU drop back to them as there aren't a whole lot of feasible places to pick up points. The women fell completely off the team race map. It seems to be a two horse race between LSU and Oregon for the girls crown.

Todays events to watch
Mens Dec will finish up. FSU's predicted winner is currently around 12th place going into today. A poor showing here will put UF and A&M close.

Men's Javelin has head-2-head matchup between UF and A&M. UF thrower predicted for 2 while A&M predicted for 4th and 8th. Definitely a place that A&M can pick up points with a good showing.

Florida has a predicted scorer in the high jump.

FSU, UF , and A&M all go head to head in the 200m qualifying. After a disappointing 100m qualifying, will A&M be able to move both runners into the finals.

A&M will have Collier and Duncan trying to qualify in the 200m. Neither are in particularly difficult heats if they run their normal times.

A&M and UF will both have runners in the 110h. A&M is predicted to score points.

Flemings will be trying to qualify for finals in 100h.

Lelei has a chance to qualify for the finals of the 3000m Steeplechase. He is predicted to finish 5th in the finals.

Last prelims of the day will be 4x400 relay. UF and A&M men are picked to be 1 and 2. FSU is running to make finals. A bad race by either team will leave them out of finals with the depth at this years championship.

A&m women picked to finish 8th in 4x400. Will be pushing to make finals. It may take a sub 3:30 in order to make finals.

Natosha Rogers will close out the night with the 10K. She has a good potential to be fighting up at the front in this race.

i'm actually in Des Moines for work and went to grab some quick breakfast before heading to the office, today. i see a girl in some Baylor T&F gear and strike up a convo...she was very nice and mentioned that times seem to be alot faster than anticipated. Also mentioned that in my hotel, several teams were staying...any idea where the Ags are holed up?

clw04 was right when he said this before yesterday's action. Hardy posted a PR with 10.11 but did not make the finals. Hardy's time was the 8th fastest of the prelims. Neither the 7th or 8th fastest times made the finals. The 9th and 10th best times in the prelims did make the finals since they went 1 and 2 in Heat #1.

Javelin starts at 1230.

The guys at TFN picked Sam 4th. They put the most thought into their picks so I use them as a baseline, knowing that they will get more wrong than right. In the end, the team standings still end up similar to what was predicted usually.

Any word yet on Javelin?
