How is the NFL structure and is there anybody listed above the commissioner on the org charge. Can the commish be removed?

It works pretty much like the ncaa. The nfl is a membership organization composed of 32 members (each team). The teams created a set of bylaws and rules which then form the league rules.

I don't know the specific rules as I have never read their bylaws, but there will surely be something in there that will remove a commissioner with a majority or two-thirds vote of the members (which is really the owners).

I think 22 votes are needed to approve a commissioner, I would assume with 22 votes, they could remove a commissioner.

When searching for a new commissioner, there is usually a committee of 5 or 6 owners who search out and suggest candidates for the vote.
