The coaches are very happy with the class. If everything goes as planned we should have a much deeper team next year, and hopefully we will be more polished in doubles. Lack of depth has been a critical issue this year, but with these guys coming on board we should be a much stronger team. Replacing Ryan will not be easy, but we should be much stronger at 4-6 next year.

Do you think everyone will be back next year - especially Cook? Each year the team seems to lose several players for whatever reason. The Rolle kid sounds very impressive.

I have asked this before, does anyone know what happened to Derrick Bauer? Where did he end up?

I believe that Lester will return next year. Derrick just decided he did not want to come back. I don't believe he transferred to another school, but I may be wrong. He certainly would have helped this year.

Based on what I've read and heard, and on my own expectations, I believe Rolle and Joelson will step in and play top 6 next year. Assuming we only lose Ryan from our current top 6, we're looking at a top 6 comprised of: Lester, Ante, Khaled, Rolle, Joelson, and then Loucks, Wooten, and Nallon battling it out for 6.

I've heard that Joelson can come in and play at around #4 for us next year as a freshman and it sounds like Rolle might be a top 3 guy. If so, the back end of our lineup might look similar to this year with everyone dropping down a spot. Certainly a lot better depth than this year.

Bauer left college, left tennis and disappeared from social circles after returning to California. If he was in college station this year, he would be playing behind Cameron. Bad attitude, bad backhand and not up to the challenge of Div 1 tennis.

uh, i'm pretty sure he'd be playing in FRONT of cameron, at least in double, and probably in singles as well. i'm assuming you didn't see how big bauer came up in clutch dubs matches last year. compare that to how fenner played against texas, and in other less-important matches, we would be better off with bauer as a sophomore than with cameron as a fish.

I see no signs of Cook leaving, also Bauer from what I have heard is trying the Circut thing, and not doing well from what I have heard. Same with Tres Davis, He was ranked up there with Robby Ginepri in juniors and kind of fell off the earth. Robby just cracked the top 50 I beleive, wheres Davis? anyone know?

tres was ranked around 500 in singles and 300 in dbls, then he had a freak weight training accident that screwed up his right elbow/shuolder. i believe he had to have surgery and lots of rehab, so he was out for a while and lost a lot of points. i saw him a few months ago at a future and he was playing really good, but its tough coming back from an injury

Thats good for him. I always thought he was a very good player but just didnt have the power or something. He was always lacking that one thing to take him to the top, maybe with this coming back he will improve strength and take it to the top 50, even though he left A&M I would love to see an ag in the top 50 right now.
