Am I getting excited over nothing? Most likely. I know this initial ranking is more a popularity contest rather than based upon any substance. But with 4 of our ladies ranked in the top 50 in preseason and for the most part did OK in the fall, it's time to put the gloves on, or more appropriate to the sport, put the racket on the ball and come out swinging. CSQ had a first round stumble at Riveria, but then never looked back winning the consolation bracket. Two of our fish won the doubles at Rice, and two others with a world ranking coming in, what's there NOT to be excited about.

I only saw three of our ladies in the top 100. I'm I missing something?

I do hope we have a good year.

14 is a great start for the Lady Ags! Not sure why Nazari Urbina is not in the singles rankings. She has always been a steady nationally ranked player throughout her career.

Urbina was #38 in the pre-fall rankings. Tough slide, though she'll quickly have a chance to play her way back in.

I know it's a team sport, and that individual rankings fluctuate much more in the fall than team rankings...but someone explain how Texas is ranked #11. No ranked doubles teams, one ranked singles player at #79.

Anyone have nay insight on how our doubles teams are shaping up/meshing this year?

We can expect a lot this season! 2 of our incoming fresh we have are world top ranked (singles and doubles). They are twins and they do great when playing doubles together. Its great to have them in our team, they are not only good at singles but playing doubles they know each other since forever! It should be an advantage ha?

Being a twin myself and playing doubles with him for over 20 years is a HUGE advantage!!! I am excited for the season.

Men are #26 with Szabo at #87 and Efferding at # 103. In doubles Adams/Vinsant are #6. Things will hopefully be looking up this season,

How can Szabo be the highest ranked player on the men's team and yet he hardly played in the lineup on last year's team? Has he improved that much?

Have heard that Szabo has improved, and that he had a very good fall tournament season.
