Just got back to a computer that works. Looking at what the ladies did in Miami over the weekend. To go from 1st to 4th on the last day, playing singles against a team who (in theory) may not be as strong as we are and losing 4 of the singles. Plus, CSQ losing in straight sets. I think that's only the second time that's happened since she's been here and the first time she was sick. Chalk this one up as Coach said to putting some playing time under our belts. At least we beat the sips in doubles. It's nice to be viewed as favorably as it appears we are, but now we're just going to have a target on our backs every match. The ladies are more than capable of doing what's necessary, no doubt, but there ain't no slack no more, no more, no more. Please people, come give the girls the support they deserve. And oh BTW, I second what Harry says about toad stools.

The ladies had a rough start in the doubles to say the least and the singles was very impressive to say the least! It looks to me that we are very strong at every position in the singles. Coach Joffe and Coach Weaver may have to light a fire under our doubles teams to get them going in tomorrow's match against Arizona. I am anxious to see what adjustments are made tomorrow in the doubles especially. To me the doubles is far more exciting and the stategy is much more apparent in the doubles than in the singles. We should be tested tomorrow in the singles against a better team.

A dominating performance today other than #3 doubles and #4 singles. Will be curious to see what changes are made if any at all.

Tennisfan, I don't believe anyone has to do Sun's justifications for her. She held her own plenty well all last year. Even the pros have bad days and Howard was working with her throughout the day. The fact that #3 doubles was 0-2 this weekend certainly comes down with a thud. But again, Naz just won't play the net no matter what and the chemistry just doesn't seem to be there as it was with Janelle. If I were to venture a guess, any changes would be in doubles. Let CSQ and Sun team up again and let the twins show what they can do together. The former ended the season last year nationally ranked and the twins came in with a junior world ranking. The National Indoors will be VERY interesting to see what happens and see how far we get.

Fighter: wasn's trying to dog on Sun Wen, but I have heard on numerous occasions that we have 8 hard core players so when someone isn't playing her best my guess is other players will get an opportunity to play.

Tennisfan, point taken, and I agree we DO have eight solid throughbreds this year. I guess like was said in another thread maybe I'm too close to the forest to see the trees. My understanding is that Howard and Mark let the ladies scrimmage for their playing rights. If Sun whips up on our ladies then she has the right to really get a case of the whoop ass on the competition. Sunday just wasn't her day but Howard having to commit to a tenative schedule several days before the match has to stick with it unless there's an injury or sickness. I just can't forget how much Christina, Sun and Naz had to perform last year. We won only one match when one of these ladies lost their single match. I know this is a game of, "What have you done for me lately." Instead of allowing a player to rest on her laurels. I'll try to step back here for awhile.
