The women especially have an uphill battle on their hands. Nobody in the 400 - I still don't know why Kamaria Brown did not compete in the 400 - and the loss of Shelbi Vaughn hurt them a lot. If all 4 make it through in the 100 and all 3 in the 200 (unlikely), and some other unexpected points can be found, perhaps in the Javelin or Triple Jump, exceeding expectations in the 4X4, winning the 100mH, or major foul ups by other teams, they have a chance.
