Folks: I just spoke to some friends of mine who knows a top-rated out of state high school tennis player who is interested in A&M. Is there someone I can pass this person's name on to, find out if they know about her, etc.?

As I understand it, she's planning on visiting the campus this summer, but we have no idea if she's in touch with the coaches at all.

OP, if a top out of state player is interested in making a campus visit in ANY sport, you can bet the coaches are the first to know about it. I think they'll handle it.

Tennis recruiting is a lot different than other sports. For both the men's and women's programs at A&M the player most likely must be a nationally rated player. That means invites to all the national tournaments where all the major college coaches are in attendance. If your friend is playing in these tournaments tell them to go find the coaches and start a conversation.

It is really hard to get a scholarship playing tennis nowadays with all the european players. My guess is that the programs at A&M are only looking at top 30 or higher players.

It shows the Ags with two recruits - one from California and one from Dallas and has us ranked at 21. On another thread someone familiar with the program said the Dallas player will be a walk-on and we're signing two top international players plus Jana McCard.
This would be consistent with the Coach Joffe's remark that we'll be as good next year.
