Federer got a murderous draw. Nadal in the quarters and Murray in the semis. Of course Nadal does not have an easy stroll to the quarters but the way he is playing he should make it. At this point even on grass I don't see Federer beating Nadal.

joker got a ridiculously easy draw. Of course he deserves it being the world's number one.

Maybe Fed's draw will actually prepare him well for this grand slam unlike many of other ones besides Wimbledon, which should help him here on his best surface even more.

yeah I see Roger losing to Rafa in the QFs, but you never know.

If Roger somehow got through Rafa, Andy, and Djoker to win another wimbledon title I may say that would be the most impressive feat of his career, given his age. So that being said...wont happen.

Djoker should roll through. Dunno who I'd take out of Rafa and Andy...probably rafa.

I know he has won a mojor burt I stil don't think Murray has the head to beat Nadal.

some drama between Maria and Serena...maybe it's because I hate Serena but I really enjoyed the "response" by Sharapova to the "unnamed top 5 female player" bull**** in Rolling Stone that Serena spouted off on. Pretty funny for women's tennis.

Correction: that would be the most impressive feat of ANYONE in tennis ever. No other player has played with as tough players as Djoker, Murray, and Rafa and none of those three guys have beaten the other 3 of the top four to win a grand slam. It would be epic beyond belief, and probably never equaled again. The stars are kind of aligned in that sense.

I mean last year alone when Roger beat Djoker and Murray handily to get the title, that was impressive, but I just don't see him beating Rafa and Djoker in the same tournament. Unfortunately, I think Roger has a permanent inferiority complex against Rafa and will never overcome it. I'd love to see him prove me wrong.

I'not a big Serena fan either. Funny stuff with Sharapova's comment. How does Rafa's draw look like? Grass isn't his favortie surface. I know he has won Wimbledon before, I just don't know if he is ready for grass this year. He didn't play a warmup tournament.

Nadal has some land mines in his way to the quarters but should make it. Federer has an easy stroll where he will most likely face Nadal. That bottom half is rough.

Wimbledon being upon us reminds me of how I kinda miss having Andy Roddick on tour.

So many of his greatest moments were on those grass courts and as a fan of his (as hard as that was at times), I held out hope waaaaaayyyyyy too long that he would get that elusive second major at the All England Club.

Let me clarify. I realize my last post makes it sound like I think his Grand Slam win was at Wimbledon.

I was holding out hope that he would win Wimbledon, thus giving him two majors total with his win at the US Open in '03.

I see Federer move like he is doing right now and think to myself he has another run in him. But then the reality hits and I konw that is not the case.

Looking at his career this mornig 4 Aussies 1 French 7 Wimbledon and 5 US Opens. Should have been 6 US Opens but he has not all there mentally against Del Potro but oh well.

Nadal is currently figting for his life. Down one set and down a mini break in the second set tie break. Not looking good for the strapping Spaniard.

Huge upset brewing here. If he holds his serve the Belgian is going to be up 2 sets. And he does not hold serve. Looks like Nadal is going to grind this one out.

I think it is their nerves more than anything else that makes these guys great. All Darcis needed to do was hold out for two service points and he had Nadal buried. Instead he is now crapping himself.

Upset alert. Turn your tvs on. Nadal is in some deep crap now.

Jesus Christ. Nadal is not down a break in the 3rd. Unbelievable. Somewhere Federer is smiling.

This guy is ranked 110 in the world and is about to take Nadal out.

wtf is going on. Just able to check for the first time this morning and this is what I look at?

Wow, rafa.

I get the feeling if Darcis doesn't close the door in the 3rd set he won't win, however.

Haha I just went to espn.com and saw this on the home page. It said nadal was struggling. I was shocked to see him down 0-2 and a break when I opened the link.

Nadal can barely move. He has his left knee taped up and it it obviously giving him some major problems.

shaky hold by Rafa. Darcis will serve for the match. Wow.

well. That's going to shake the all england club for a few days.

way too much to even get into immediately on the ramifications for a loss like that.

Nagging injury or not, losses like this in Nadal's career only strengthen the resume of Federer and why he is the greatest ever.

I'm going back to my original comment that I didnt think Nadal was ready for grass. Come on Fed!

Then I will Bunk. This changes everything on the bottom half of the draw. Now Federer has a shot. Not the best of shots but better than what is was 2 hours ago.

This does cement Federer as the best of all time. Federer can play until he is 50 and never be beaten in the first round. He will make it the semis. Nadal was the only thing standing in his way. And if Tsonga can wear Murray down then Fed can take him. But then again Joker will demolish anyone that gets in his way. He has even an easier draw than Federer had last year.

And what nagging injury? Nadal just won the French and was blistering people on the hard courts as well. That 5 setter against Joker was followed up by a trouncing of Ferrer in the finals. So Nadal should not have been ailing. He should not use that as an excuse which I know he will not. Nadal is a classy guy (asie from shoving that guy last year).

If you watched, his knee was definitely giving him issues today.

In the press conference now, Rafa taking the high road. Refusing to blame the match in his knee, just saying he didn't play well, and congrats to his opponent.

Now Leyton Hewitt is coming back from the grave trying to make some noise. Strange first day.

And Hewitt is now up 2 sets to love. This is just strange. Hewitt has been dead for the last 3 years and comes out and is bout to take out a high quality player. I guess if Tommy Haas continous with his deal with the devil he could take oout Joker but I seriously doubt it.

Nice win for Hewitt. I am huge Nadal anti-supporter, so glad to see him gone. I don't find him classy, more like whiney.

Agree to disagree. IMO Nadal has carried himself mostly with grace. The only time I have ever seen him make a turd of himself was last year at Wimbledon when he bumped an opponent. We are blessed to have gentlemen at the top of the men's draw with the exception of Murray. He is a creep.

That Mladenovic chick has some skills. She is definitely someone to watch going forward.

When Nadal was an up and comer, I found myself cheering against him a bit. He was a threat to Federer and I wanted see to see Roger get his career slam, break the records, etc... After awhile, I couldn't help but start to enjoy Rafa. He's a treat to watch, and now that Roger's got his records, I guess that's a moot point.

One thing that has helped, and hurt him when he broke through- his English skills were poor. Now that he can better express himself in English, I feel as if I can connect with him better. I can understand Spanish OK, but you never get much Spanish here, anyways.

His language skills have also allowed him to govern the press conferences. They can't pester him and they can't draw him into the drama- see today's refusal to discuss his knee.

He's also matured. Not that he was immature, but he was a teenager when he first dominated the clay season back in 2005. I think a lot of people thought Djokovic was a punk when he first broke through. Some might still think that, but I think a lot of people have grown to love Novak as he has matured and we've got to know him better.

Rafa isn't perfect, but his whininess pales in comparison to a few other sports figures out there.

Could not agree more. We are blessed with gentlemen at the top of the game. You won't see a fried chicken reference come out of their mouths like Sergio Garcia or them making asses of themselves like Tiger Woods. Or using curse words in a press conferecne like basketball and football players. I think back to the quiet nature of Sampras that broke us of that bombastic nonsense of Connors and McEnroe. It sometimes turns my stomach to hear McEnroa talk knowing what a fool he made of himself on the court sometimes. He has changed thankfully but the men we have now representing this game are ones that we can cheer for. Even as big a duece as Murray is he pales in comparison to Connors and McEnroe.
