Arriving a bit late to the show here. I don't like a lot of the mudslinging on lots of these threads but I do miss Aggie tennis and I hate that we have to wait until next Spring to get to see tennis again. Just wondering what kind of pushback you are referring to between Kleinecke/Joffe and Denton. With the programs being separate I don't really see what types of major problems there could be between the two programs. Just curious is all.

Camps is the big one. The camps were split this year for the first time ever due to differing opinions on how they should be run.

How the facilities are handled.

The tennis ops job was hired for by the men's coaches. Check out the last two ops managers and you'll see that.

Interesting stuff! I doubt that the Denton/Mckinley duo is all too excited that the two young guns in Joffe/Weaver fell just short of winning a national title either.

I think that the heat is really on Bob and Steve to get some wins at NCAAs, or they may be kicked out the door. They need to produce some wins at the final site.

How were the camps split?
Was there a girlscamp/boys camp or was it just split in half?

The men's teams and women's teams are each running their own separate camps now basically due to differences in how and when the camps should be ran from what I heard at least that is what people are saying. They are each offering basically the same camp just different weeks. I think it is all really all about the money distribution among the coaches, however is what it is all really about. The politically correct thing that I have heard is the coaches are busy recruiting in the Summer and can't be here enough of the time but sounds like it is really all about the money. Isn't that a Shame!

Bobby K built that camp from the ground up. Cass was happy to get a small percentage of profits in order to just stay out of it. Keep in mind we are talking about 500 or so kids per summer paying $700 each. Do the math, and even with overhead and salaries that's a ton of money. Rumor is BK made more off camps than he did off salary. My guess is that Denton was not satisfied with that arrangement and I guess he figured when BK got axed, the camp was his. I am not close to anyone in or around the program anymore so I don't know any more than that.

I had taught many years ago when Bobby ran the camp. Cass was never involved in camp other than maybe a token appearance. Very few A&M players taught.

It's hard to imagine it being split into separate camps. You would think if Denton/Joffe were equally involved it would be easy to split 50/50.

I can only imagine that Joffe didn't want to split it equally (for whatever reason). I mean now w/ the camps split they are essentially just getting 50/50.

It had to be a big money maker though. Counselors got a pittance compared to the hours that were worked.

With Joffe being the new guy I am not sure how all the camps were split up amongst the two programs. I know that this is the first year that Mark has been included in as a director. My guess is that is where the issue has mainly been and perhaps Joffe's cut as well since he is new to the camps.

looong time ago. 97 I think.

Kleinecke did not really impress me as as a top level D-1 coach. Had more of a high school coach vibe (obviously something not quantifiable). Did seem like a great guy though.

Toad can't put two words together. My guess is reborn is really Bigfoot and Fighter is the guy who brings the signs to the matches. He is also Signem as well. I will raise you with my guesses since you all are making guesses.

Got to love some of the people on this board. They buy drinks for the players at the TAP and are suddenly insiders.

Never had a sock. And we haven't agreed on everything before. Some people here are insiders though, and it's not hard to tell who.

They think they're insiders because they sit in the patio club buy drinks for players..One dude even bragged about it on here.pathetic.

From a camper's perspective attending the Joffe-run camp, there were a ton of positives.

Champs and Super Champs were grouped together for the first time with Supers getting a one-on-one chat with Joffe at the end of camp. I don't know how the Men's team runs things but that was a heck of a carrot for a camper.

Having Weaver and Christina Sanchez as two of your three coaches was pretty cool. Lots of great feedback for the campers. It doesn't hurt when Joffe recognizes you at check-in from last year, either. Oh yeah, the full staff was present at sign-in to greet all the campers and parents.

I don't know what the chemistry is between staffs and I can't comment on the Denton-run camp but if Joffe and the women's staff keep doing things the way they are now, I don't know how someone can complain about it.

Good to hear the Women's camp was good. I hear the mens camps were very good too with all three coaches on hand and players Vinsant, Szabo and Minavi working at the first one.
