I haven't heard anything about a new volleyball facility. I would have to imagine any new facility for volleyball (if one happens) would be behind Kyle Field, softball field, outdoor track and field, and indoor tennis since I have heard rumors or more for all of those projects.
What would be the reason to build a dedicated volleyball facility?
Is it primarily for atmosphere of games and improve game experience of fans and recruits? Or, are there issues with the three teams sharing the practice facilities? Is there just one practice gym?
I do remember back when we played in G Rollie hearing our volleyball coach talk about how nice it was to be able to practice when ever they wanted without regard to the basketball team schedules thus implying that was an advantage over schools with nicer facilities but shared those facilities with basketball. Then when we moved I remember reading something about how nice it will be for volleyball to play in the updated facility with all of the amenities.
