Why couldn't they just start the tournament on Sunday instead of Monday, like the French Open does? I believe the US Open announced new facilities this year, including a retractable roof or two. Should help a lot.

I did some counting the other day, and I believe they only use 17 courts for the tournament, not including Junior qualifying which uses the practice courts. That sounds like a scheduling nightmare

So Rafa has the easier semi but Joker has had some easier matches (although Rafa's last match was a complete murdering). At this point you have to go with Nadal to win this tournament. I am going to leave work early that day in order to watch it. If it is anything like the Aussie final between Nadal and Joker my butt cheeks are going to be clapping. And this is what it is all about. The best just going after it.

Tough to see Federer going down but the same could be said for Sampras, Borg, etc. A new generation is coming to the front. But one last thing about Federer. Winning 16 of 27 majors was incredible. That means during that period he won more than twice the number of the other winners combined. However, if the Aussie had been important back in Borg's day we would be talking about Borg being the GOAT. The Aussie meant nothing to those players back then. Frankly, I also remember Ivan Lendl skipping the French to focus on Wimbledon. The money was just different back then I suppose.

I think he can. He should at least win a couple more French titles. Heres a question for ya. How long do you think it will be until someone besides Nadal, Djokovic, or Murray wins a slam?

Gonna be a while. There's gonna have to be the perfect storm, or someone basically unknown come out to win one besides the big 3/4. I can't even think of anyone who might be a possibility in the game right now outside those guys.

I can see Nadal getting to 17, but if 14 of them are from Roland Garros, it'll be hard to compare him favorably to Federer.

Until about 2 hours ago, I would have agreed that Nadal, Djoker, Murray will make the Slams an oligarchy for a while, but jeez is Wawrinka making things interesting. One hot streak or has he finally found a higher level to his game?
