Clay Emge, Class of 2006 emerged as the world champion in the 25 - 29 age division at the IRONMAN World Championship recently held in Kailua-Kona Hawaii. Further, competing as an amateur, Clay finished an amazing 27th place overall for all age divisions (pro or amateur).

For those unfamiliar with an IRONMAN competition, it consists of a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride, and finishing with a 26.2 mile run.

Get this, his overall average pace on the bike was 23.7 mph, and his overall run pace was 6.53 minutes/mile. Wow!

Just thinking about a 6:53 mile pace after that swim and that bike makes my head hurt.
