The Texas A&M volleyball team (18-11; 10-8 SEC) has been selected by the NCAA Tournament Committee for the First Round of play versus the University of Texas at San Antonio (24-7; 13-1 CUSA).
The Aggies will play the Roadrunners in Austin at the end of the week, more than likely beginning on Thursday (scheduling details to come).
The two teams have already met this season where the Aggies defeated the Roadrunners, 3-1, on September 6th in the UTSA Classic.
The only ranked opponent UTSA has faced all season came against Florida in which the Gators defeated the Roadrunners in a sweep 3-0. The only other SEC match UTSA played in this year came against LSU in a 1-3 loss in Baton Rouge.
For perspective's sake, A&M split meetings with LSU during their season, dropping the first match 2-3 and winning the second in a sweep 3-0.
This will be the Aggies 18th NCAA appearance under A&M head coach Laurie Corbelli. If Texas A&M should win they will face the Texas Longhorns in Austin in Round Two of the NCAA Tournament.
More details to follow as Texas A&M, for now, celebrates their bid into the NCAA Tournament.
