Howdy TexAgs,

My name is Andrew Ball, a new intern here at TexAgs. I’m going to be covering the smaller sports here on the site. I’ll try and get a lot of recaps going, and also hope to get some coach interviews coming in shortly. If you all have any requests or comments let me know, so we can get this other sports forum going! Here the first recap of the swim meet today vs. Georgia.

The highly ranked girls started the afternoon off strong, narrowly out touching Georgia in the opening 200 Yard Medley Relay. From there, #4 Georgia rebounded, taking home first in the next two events, which included a 1-2 finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Senior Paige Miller got the Aggies back on track with a second and a half win in the 100 Yard Back. Olympians Breeja Larson and Camille Adams continued the winning streak in their respective strokes, Breaststroke and Butterfly. In the end, the women actually ended up tying Georgia 150-150.

The boys’ afternoon didn’t go as smoothly. The team was unranked, and it showed early that they were the underdogs. Event 4, the Men’s 1000 Free was a definite low point, where Georgia took home a 1-2-3 finish. The high point in the afternoon was during the 50 Free when Kyle Troskot and Cory Bolleter finished first and second, respectively. The final count for the boys side was 173.0-127.0.

I will put up a link to full results soon!

Weak post
1. They are MEN and WOMEN, not girls and boys.

2. The way you posted the MEN'S score, you have us winning by a 173 to 127 score.

Study your campusology - Always give the Aggies' score first to avoid the need for the question "But, who had which score?"

Hope this helps.

Great job, Andrew!

Shotgun...point 1 is correct. But in journalism, you always give the winning score first...not the Aggies' score first.

Let's cut the man a little slack. It's the first recap of hopefully many more, starting with today's women's meet at 1pm vs SMU. I'm sure he will find his groove and add to the content and discussion.

Gig 'Em, Andrew!

Nice to see that Gabe pays attention to the "marginal" sports on TexAgs. THANKS!!

Indeed a huge welcome to Andrew. Any extra attention given to our sport is a good thing.

Call us small one more time.

But glad to see some coverage thrown this way.

Situation, I've been swimming my whole life. Couldnt tell you how many times I've heard 'small' be used haha.

I appreciate the feedback, and like I said we can work together to make this better. I am definitely open to suggestions.

Next covered will be the meet against Houston on Thursday, and then we'll start getting into some Tennis. Let's make them better and better every time.

Nice to see more formal coverage of the swimmers (and divers). If you really want to impress us, find out what is different this year for Kyle Troskot. Why is he consistently faster this year? How is the new men's assistant coach doing? I always want to learn more about what is happening in recruiting. Other topics interesting (at least to me): How fast can Breeja get in 50 free? Is Sycerika getting into the NCAA/SCY groove?

Gabe, i didn't realize his post was a national journalism piece. I thought it was just a thread on TexAGS. In Aggieland, we have always given the Aggies' score first to make it clearer who won. E G, Chick-Fil-A bowl score was 52 to 48. No need for further explanation
At any rate, as the father of a former member of the WOMEN'S swim team at Texas A&M, I appreciate the mention of the MEN's and WOMEN'S swim team results
