The only other signees I could find we're the two jumpers from the Bahamas. Njcaa champion and runner up twins! Also a female sprinter from Louisiana , high schooler. Not much said about any of these three. Googled for the sprinter but had no luck. Maybe Annie kunz could help out with some of this info or whoever tweets for aggie track.

Ebony Crear hurdles Long Beach, Calif. Poly HS
Briyahna Desrosiers sprints Alsip, Ill. North Lawndale College Prep
Melanie Enriquez distance Round Rock, Texas Stony Point HS
Audrey Malone multi-event Bryan, Texas Bryan HS
Devin Norton distance Lantana, Texas Denton Guyer HS

O'Jay Ferguson sprints Bahamas Essex County CC
Carl Johnasson pole vault Newport Beach, Calif. Orange Lutheran HS
Ioannis Kyriazis throws Athens, Greece
Jacob Perry distance Sanger, Texas Sanger HS
Just'N Thymes sprints Walnut, Calif. Riverside CC

In the interview coach Henry said the incoming class would have 24 men and 19 women. Therefore 8 additional women and 19 additional men sign after February.
I am aware of some of the signees and these are listed below

Additional Women Signees
Emily Gunderson, Tx Pole Vault PB 4.04m
Devin Norton, Denton, Tx Cross Country/Distance
Marcquita Stalbert New Orleans, LA, Sprints 100m (11,76), 200m (23.52), 400m (53.73)
Melanie Enriquez, Stony Brook, Tx Cross Country/distance

These 4 signees plus the previous 11 gives 15. There are 4 more signees that I do not know about. Coach Henry also mention a female sprinter from California

Additional Men Signees
Audie Wyatt Huntville, Tx Pole Vault PB 5.18m
Latario Collie-Minns Bahamas Triple/ Long Jump 17.12mW and a legal 16.91m in TJ
Lathone Collie-Minns Bahamas Triple/ long Jump 16.75mW and a legal 16.22m in TJ
Caleb Eagans, Tx Hurdles
Juan Uribe Brownville, Tx Cross Country/Distance
Rodney Ripley, Spring, Tx Multi Events

These 6 signees plus the originals 5 gives 11. There are another 13 signees I don’t about and haven’t seen anything posted as yet. I know Coach Henry said a top sprinter will be transferring to the Aggies

I am very concerned about the status of the Collie-Minns twins. Coach Henry, when asked about incoming recruits, did not mention anything about any triple jumpers. He did mention that there was one possible transfer.

I took his statements to mean the twins are not coming to Aggieland. These two would probably earn at least 18 points at the SEC and NCAA indoor and outdoor meets in each of the next two years.

They would be the most important recruits of the incoming class. If they were coming here, I believe that he would have said something about them since they are superstars in the triple jump.

Even though he did not mention it in the interview I still believe the twins are coming to A&M. He really did not spend alot of time on the recruit. He said in the interview it would take along time to go through the recruits.

Both showed their commitment to Texas A&M on social media and I haven't seen anything since then to show otherwise. These are their quotes:

Lathone quote
8 weeks ago - I've visited 5 amazing school but I only could choose one and it was Texas A&M

Latario quote
“I have finally decided to commit to Texas a&m university"

This is Latario Collie Minns present status on his twitter account as of today

"saltar lejos @latariosmall

I like cold fries #tracknation. Rank third in the world as a triple jumper Texas A&M aggie"

It shows he is a Texas A&M aggie

Just recently the men's team signed Garrett Cragin, a high jumper out of friendswood who appears to be quite a talent. Turned out for track post regular season and at the state meet he cleared 7 feet to claim the gold. It was like only his 3rd or 4th competition EVER in that event. PRETTY AMAZING!!!

As for the 2 jumpers from IOWA JC, it appears they really want to come A&M (and I'm sure Coach Henry would like to have them) but sometimes there are issues with grades and they may have a hard time with the NCAA clearinghouse. Do not know that to be the case, but lets keep our fingers crossed that they do enroll.

Just as food for thought, tis important to remember that Deon Lendore just showed up on the A&M roster.

There wasn't a press release. There have been numerous athletes that fit this same mold.

You have a great point about Lendore. He came in the team virtual unannounce in January and by March he was conference champion.

Another thing I notice about about coach Henry, he is not boastful so I don't expect him to be bragging about having the best recruits. He is humble and by far one of the best track coaches

Garrett Cragin did sign with the Aggies about two weeks ago. He chose us over the longhorns. Another good recruit

Imagine this guy never did high jump before until several weeks ago and already a 7ft jumper. He was a baskeball/baseball player at high school.

The amazing thing is that Cragin's participation at the district meet was the first time he had ever competed at a track meet.
"He came to us just a couple of days before district and asked if he could give the high jump a try," assistant coach Daron Scott said. "We had no idea what he could actually do, much less win the event."
Cragin broke the 26-year-old Friendswood HS high jump mark of 6'10" that was set back in 1988.

I thank all of you for the discussion of my question. Not a lot of options to get track information around here.

its really sad that there is not a lot of discussion about track. we have been national champs six or seven times in last five years. there just is not much coverage. i also appreciate when people give some info.

Why can't we then have a weekly track and field radio show where fans are invited to come out and join the coaches as well as meet the Aggies as they talk all things Track and field.
A toll-free number could be provided for fans wishing to call-in and have their questions answered during the show.
In this way we could get a lot more information of incoming athletes, injured athletes, performances during the serason etc.
We have this for football, basketball, soccer. Why not Track and Field????? 8 National Titles in 6 years. It would be well earned.

If Pat was the A&M Football Coach and brought a couple of national championships to College Station, they would re-name the town for him. He gets little play around here, sadly.

Trini, I still worry about Latario & Lathone. I cannot imagine why Coach Henry would not mention something about these two exceptional recruits. They should give us 20 points at the SEC indoor and outdoor meets and possibly that much at the national meets over the next two years. They will easily be our most important recruits for 2014.

The closest he came to mentioning anything about them is that he said we might get ONE transfer. He never made any comments about recruiting jumpers. We desperately need these two incredible talents.

Our athletic department does a pathetic job of educating Aggies on the status of signing recruits in non-revenue sports. It usually puts out a flyer once a year for each sport. This information is never updated. Spending only a few minutes once a year on each sport is ridiculous.

Don't worry to much. From what I see on social media the twins are coming to Aggieland. They should be here next month.

Texas A&M javelin signee from Greece Ioánnis Kiriazís threw 73.66m last week and is the 3rd ranked junior in the world.

What ever happened to Eli Hall Thompson. He was a top sprint recruit from the state of Texas in 2013. He committed to Houston with Cameron Burrell but never made it to Houston and I think he may have went a junior college. He had a 10.2 and 20.6 in the sprints from high school

It is really difficult to get information on the additional track and field signees, especially the top sprinter who is transferring to Texas A&M this fall. Let’s try to narrow down the field from the top list this past season. The list includes athletes who competed and did not compete at NCAA.

Below is a top list in the NCAA 100m and 200m this past season
100m list
1 Walker, Justin SR-4 Northwestern St. 9.95
2 Bromell, Trayvon FR-1 Baylor 10.01
2 Batson, Diondre SR-4 Alabama 10.01
4 Locke, Dentarius SR-4 Florida State 10.06
5 Vaughn, Clayton JR-3 Texas-Arlington 10.08
6 Martin, Benjamin JR-3 Troy 10.11
7 Givans, Senoj-Jay FR-1 Texas 10.13
8 Teeters, John SO-2 Oklahoma State 10.14
9 Lewis, Reggie JR-3 Clemson 10.15
9 Robinson, Bryce SO-2 Tulsa 10.15
11 Brown, Aaron SR-4 USC 10.16
11 Jenkins, Devin SO-2 Southern 10.16
11 Hester, Tevin SO-2 Clemson 10.16
14 Ernest, Aaron JR-3 LSU 10.17
15 Hart, Shavez JR-3 Texas A&M 10.18
16 Walker, Everett SR-4 Baylor 10.19
16 Hardy, Jr., Prezel SR-4 Texas A&M 10.19
16 Bowens, Nic JR-3 Utah State 10.19
19 Smith, Johnathan SR-4 Georgia 10.20
19 Wright, Antwan SO-2 Florida 10.20
19 Haynes, Akeem SR-4 Alabama 10.20
19 Acy, Tremayne FR-1 LSU 10.20 LSU
19 Whitfield, Justin SR-4 Arkansas State 10.20

200m list
1 Dukes, Dedric JR-3 Florida 19.97 Florida
2 Hardy, Jr., Prezel SR-4 Texas A&M 20.14
2 Ernest, Aaron JR-3 LSU 20.14
4 Bailey, Elvyonn SR-4 Western Kentucky 20.15
5 Nkanata, Carvin SR-4 Pittsburgh 20.17
6 Brown, Aaron SR-4 USC 20.19
7 Bromell, Trayvon FR-1 Baylor 20.23
8 Jenkins, Devin SO-2 Southern 20.32
9 Hart, Shavez JR-3 Texas A&M 20.35
10 Hall, Arman SO-2 Florida 20.40
11 Rodney, Brendon JR-3 LIU Brooklyn 20.41
12 Hadnot, Trey SR-4 Louisiana Tech 20.43
13 Heriot, Blake SR-4 Baylor 20.45 TCU
14 Mackey, Trevor JR-3 Texas Tech 20.47
14 Walker, Justin SR-4 Northwestern St. 20.47
14 Vaughn, Clayton JR-3 Texas-Arlington 20.47
17 Batson, Diondre SR-4 Alabama 20.49
18 Watts, Sam SO-2 TCU 20.50 TCU
19 Ways, Ceo FR-1 North Carolina 20.53
20 Smith, Johnathan SR-4 Georgia 20.54

I assumed the person transferring might be a freshman or sophomore, so for now we will eliminate all the juniors and seniors from the list. We are left with the following possible athletes.

Bromell, Trayvon FR-1 Baylor 10.01
Givans, Senoj-Jay FR-1 Texas 10.13
Teeters, John SO-2 Oklahoma State 10.14
Robinson, Bryce SO-2 Tulsa 10.15
Jenkins, Devin SO-2 Southern 10.16
Hester, Tevin SO-2 Clemson 10.16
Wright, Antwan SO-2 Florida 10.

I don’t think it is the Baylor, Florida, Clemson and Oklahoma state athletes.
Maybe it is the Texas, Tulsa or Southern athlete. Which of these three it is likely to be.
My best guess though it is Devin Jenkins (10.16 and 20.42) from Southern.
Why? Because Southern university I found out had a NCAA post season banned on all sports.
“The NCAA confirmed a program wide postseason ban on Southern University’s men’s and women’s athletic teams”

Therefore Devin Jenkins was unable to compete at NCAA this last season and therefore the best candidate to transfer this fall. I think Devin Jenkins could be the one coming to A&M this fall. I could be wrong but I just use information to make this guess

What you all think? Who you all think it is? Does anyone know? I have not seen anything posted anywhere yet.

Haha nice way to come to the conclusion. OR - possibly you saw the other thread where I told you it was Devin so the rumors would cease, and guys would stop asking.

Which thread did you say that? If I knew i would not go waste time going through this and posting.
Thanks for confirming.
I guess the Aggie fans are excited and very much interested in the track team and so people would want to know about any top athlete coming. Once the coach mentioned it everyone would be excited and anxious to find out. All the best to the track team 2014-2015.

Thanks Ksmith
I just saw the post.

I guess Bubortho might be affiliated with the track team the way he spoke

" I told you it was Devin so the rumors would cease, and guys would stop asking. "

Thanks again and keep us posted with all the track and field developments for the upcoming season. Let us know when the final list of the incoming class be posted for all track fans to see.

We welcome Devin to Aggieland. He made the best choice.

The Aggie fans all over are very much interested in the team. You all have brought us 8 national titles in the last six years and I was never in CS during that period.
So I hope one day I could be back to see the indoor stadium (Only saw it on live broadcast), new football stadium etc and to be part of a national championship track celebration.

Feature on Devin Jenkins and his coach leaving Southern posted below

Southern loses sprinter Devin Jenkins; coach Brian Johnson gets OK to talk with Georgia

Southern is losing its top track and field athlete, and the departure of his coach seems imminent as well.

Sprinter Devin Jenkins, the reigning 100- and 200-meter champion in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, has been granted his release from the Jaguars, Athletic Director William Broussard said Monday.

“He’s looking to move on, and we’re in the process of (finalizing his release),” Broussard said. “Hopefully we’ll be able to wrap it up by the end of the week. We want to do what’s best for him and what’s best for his family.”

Jenkins, a native of Hawaii who has two years of eligibility remaining, is expected to enroll at Texas A&M. The release means he would be immediately eligible with the Aggies.

Broussard also said he has given Georgia permission to speak with Jaguars track coach Brian Johnson about an assistant’s position on Wayne Norton’s staff. Norton is looking to replace Jon Stuart, who was named head coach at Southern Miss on July 21.

Johnson’s hiring with the Bulldogs could happen as early as Tuesday, sources told The Advocate. A former Jaguars athlete who was a long jumper on the 2008 U.S. Olympic team, Johnson, who did not return a message Monday, has overseen a resurgence in the Southern program in his four years as head coach. The men and women both finished second in the SWAC championships last season.

Track and field practice usually begins shortly after Labor Day, which would leave Broussard with little time to find a replacement for Johnson.

Jenkins had times in three events that were good enough to qualify for the NCAA East preliminary rounds in the 100, 200 and as part of the Jaguars 4x100 relay team. His best time in the 100 was 10.16 (at the Georgia Tech Invitational), which tied for sixth-fastest in the East, and his 20.32 in the 200 at the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational was fifth-fastest. The top 48 times in the regional qualify for the NCAAs. Southern’s 4x100 relay team’s 40.16 at the LSU Alumni Gold tied for 17th in the East and the top 24 times qualify.

Jenkins and his teammates, though, were unable to participate in the NCAAs because of a post-season ban due to inadequate reporting of student-athletes’ Academic Progress Rates.

Broussard said Southern tried to convince Jenkins, who didn’t receive any other scholarship offers while in high school, to stay.

“Early in the summer we brought him in and said, ‘Hey, we really want to keep you here. We brought you here. We’ve coached you, we’ve developed you to this point. We want you to graduate from Southern,’ ” Broussard said.

“We don’t want to hold people hostage. We don’t want to keep people from pursuing what they want to do. If he’s not happy, he’s not going to compete with his heart as well as his body.”
