I guess this forum should be thankful, we have one more thing we can be assured God has given us besides the sun coming up in the east and the only two things assured in life are death and taxes; that is SlickRick will always break his promise and have some idiotic comment about the tennis program. Since Howard has come on board we've had Jeannie Rasmus, Dane Vorster, and Klaudia Boczova have left the team before they completed their college career here at A&M either by graduation or use up their playing eligibility. Paula Deheza doesn't count because she had a career ending injury. As far as that goes, Jeannie was hurt during the NCAAs at Michigan so that may be her excuse as well for leaving. By and large these players leave for greener pastures for a myriad of reasons but the top three are most likely:
1. Getting cross wise with the coaches
2. Not getting enough playing time or not playing higher in the lineup in their opinion
3. Bad chemistry with the team
From my observation we haven't had that happen here, with either Howard or Bobby. Without fail every woman on the team will tell you the same thing about both Howard and Mark. Howard is a great coach, he just gets a little jumpy sometimes, and Mark is so even keeled he could calm a tsunami. So to make a statement like lots of players leaving or transferring is again just bogus asinine horse dip pucky. For what its worth, Klaudia was coming in as a 24 year old Junior . It would stand to reason with a ranking like she had, for Howard NOT to play her this fall could only mean either grades or serious injury. Since no coach would be foolish enough to waste a scholarship on an upper classmen with questionable academic ability it seems pretty far fetched so now you're down to injury. If we go with the medical red shirt her age restricts her to only one year of playing eligibility after laying out a year. It is probably smarter to hold that money back for a year so we can get a longer term commit next year. One last thing, if you haven't had the pleasure of watching Eva and Rachel play yet, it will be FUN FUN this spring to watch.
