I wouldn't expect a track roster until Dec. or Jan. I don't think they even have the XC roster up. Most of the track team was at the XC meet on Friday night

Not sure when the list of track team will be posted or if the twins are in Aggieland.
I don't know anyone affiliated with the team
Maybe one of the persons affiliated with the team could tell us. I think Bubortho might be affiliated with the team and could answer us

These are Aggie men and women Cross Country 2014 teams as listed on DirectAthletics.

Last year the track roster was up by late September. Seems like a lot of schools are posting their lists sooner than ever. TCU, UTA and Texas already have their "15 teams posted.

I have heard that Loannis Kyriazis (frosh Greek javelin thrower who scored well at the recent World Juniors in Eugene) is enrolled and on campus.

Andries Van der Merwe, the South African hurdler ("11 world Junior champion) who enrolled last January and battled hamstring issues all winter and fall has taken his talents to Laramie, Wyoming and will run for the "Pokes in "15.

I guess it"s possible that Latario and Lathone Collie-MInns may not enroll until January. Same may be true for sprinters Just"n Thymes and O"jay Ferguson. So often JC kids have issues with their transcripts.

While we are looking at the upcoming year in track, anyone know what teams are coming in for the Quad Meet 1/24? THANKS

To the newcomer list add Elijah Morrow out of Waller who posted some good sprint marks last spring: 10.49, and 20.99. Any other newcomers of note that have not been mentioned?

The Aggie Athletic Dept. and the Sport Information Dept. do a pathetic job of giving us information regarding anything related to track & field. PATHETIC!
T&F produces more points towards the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup than any other sport.
T&F gives us more National Championships than any other sport.
Seems like it would be treated with more respect. It should.

This is not a sports information issue. Coach Henry has arguably the top SID for track in the country. Shawn Price has worked at Track and Field News and has worked for the US Olympic Teams in several Olympic Games and World Championships. The track staff makes the decision when to release the roster and it is done for competitive reasons and its effect on recruiting. A&M is far from alone in waiting to release their roster and it has nothing to do with SIDs. The old staff also waited to release its roster close to the start of the indoor season.

With the new early signing period for track, I doubt you'll see the released before it.

Below are a summary of two Aggie 2015 commitments in Soccer and Women Basketball that plan to compete in Track and Field

Soccer 2015 commitment
F Alleandra Watt,5'5", Colorado Springs, CO (Pride SC) *** - An intriguing prospect for
Coach G, "Ally" is one of the top sprinters in the nation in her age
group, winning the 100M and 200M state titles in Colorado. Currently ranked #1
nationally in the 100M and #2 nationally in the 200M for 2015 girls. She is
similar to former player Whitney Hooper in speed and quickness off the ball.
Clearly will be used as a breakaway threat to keep defenses on their heels.

Anriel Howardis a two-sport star who has visions of winning national championships and
narrating how they happened. The 6-foot forward from Westlake High School in
Atlanta pledged to the Texas A&M women's basketball team. Howard, who plans
to major in communications and broadcasting, also will be a horizontal jumper
on the track team. Howard picked A&M over Kentucky, South Carolina,
Arkansas and Wake Forest at an announcement party with about 75 family and
friends. In track, she helped Westlake win back-to-back Class 6A state
championships, winning the triple jump last season. Best

Diamond Spaulding a high school sprint sensation out of Ft. Lauderdale has verbally committed to A&M (class of '19) and will be eligible for the '16 season. This news was reported by ttfca.com and her personal twitter page. Spaulding ran 11.62 (18th nationally), 23.00(w), and has a 6th ranked legal mark of 23.36. Pretty good way to start the new recruiting season.

Also committing to the Aggies track today are:

Krystal Sparling from St. Thomas Aquinas School in Ft. Lauredale (same school as Diamond Spalding). Has best times 100m - 11.34 (rank 4th) and 200m - 23.34 (rank 4th) . Another great recruit. We got two top sprinters from the same school and out of Florida

Jarra Owens from Sugar land Texas. 400m - 54.43.

Some great sprinters next year in Diamond Spalding, Krystal Sparling and Alleandra Watts (Soccer recruit).
Next year we lose some top sprinters in Kamaria Brown, Ashton Purvis and Olivia Ekpone

Just letting you guys know that the track roster is up. A lot of new athletes

I don't see the triple jump twin names on the roster. Someone will have to tell us if they are actually on the team

Just realize that none of the junior college transfers are listed on the roster (Justyn Thymes, O'jay Fergusion, triple jump twins etc). Maybe they would be included later in the season.

I really don't know about Bailey. I don't know anyone on the team or affiliated to the team.
We need someone close or affiliated to the track team to let us know about Bailey and also the Junior College transfers who are not on the roster.
One of the most impressive additions must be Maggie Malone a transfer from Nebraska. I guess following her coach Kris Grimes to Aggieland. She was ranked no 7 in NCAA last year in the javelin with a 181' 8" (55.37m). She could be a definite scorer for ladies at SEC and NCAA in 2015. She has been throwing the javelin I believe for a year or so.

Just saw this. I am surprised the Aggies are not in the top 10

Top Men's Recruiting Class: Florida State
The just-out January edition of T&FN features "Where They Are Going," our annual review of who got whom for next year's competition. The Seminoles head our top 10 men, for one big reason.

How about a frosh 4x1 that just might be good enough to win the national title?
That's what Bob Braman has on his hands with the World Junior 100 and 200 gold medalists, AOY Trentavis Friday (10.00 HSR, 20.33), and Kendal Williams (10.21, 20.55) plus Mustaqeem Williams (10.39, 20.64; also 24-9) and Zyaire Clemes (10.43w, 46.28).

Here's the top 10 schools.
1. FLORIDA STATE
2. OREGON
3. UCLA
4. USC
5. ALABAMA
6. STANFORD
7. ARKANSAS
8. FLORIDA
9. TENNESSEE
10. MIAMI

The Aggies women come in a No. 5

Top Women's Recruiting Class: Oregon RepeatsThe just-out January edition of T&FN features "Where They Are Going," our annual review of who got whom for next year's competition. The Seminoles head our women's top 10. In announcing the choice, this is what the magazine said:Last year here we said that Oregon's collection "rates with the best ever seen." This year's group is close to the same quality, as Robert Johnson brings in no fewer than a half-dozen performers with All-America credentials.
From this year's team, start with sprint star Ariana Washington (11.22, 22.96), No. 2 in the 100 and No. 3 in the 200.
Then add the No. 1 heptathlete Ashlee Moore (5466 for No. 5 on the all-time list, plus 13.89 and 5-10) and 3-time 800 ranker Raevyn Rogers (2:03.32, plus 53.34).
From the '13 ratings add miler Sarah Baxter (4:51.01, 10:10.29) and hurdler Alaysh'A Johnson (13.84, 41.83) and top it off with transfer Brianna Nerud, the HS recordholder in the steeplechase (10:00.72).
For good measure throw in transfer Waverly Neer, an NCAA 5K finalist last year (15:37.85) and you've got another powerhouse.

The top 10:
1. OREGON
2. STANFORD
3. USC
4. TEXAS
5. TEXAS A&M
6. KANSAS STATE
7. UCLA
8. FLORIDA STATE
9. KENTUCKY
10. LSU

Dewitt Thomas just ran an unbelievable anchor leg on Kingwood's 4X400 relay at the state meet. Held off a closing Manvel runner and sold out at the finish to win by 4/100ths of a second. Not sure when there will be a video clip of it but it's a must see.
