Anyone know the status of Deon Lendore who pulled up with 50 meters to go in yesterday's SEC qualifying heats of the 400 ?

Good question and worrisome situation. Deon was one of our best if not the best runner this year. Shame he will not be able to sweep the indoor and outdoor 400 again.

Apparently - a groin injury. May be out for about 3 months.

SEC Indoor Meet: The Ags did not do as well as hoped, finishing third in both competitions.
Several subpar performances.

Surprise of the meet to me was 1st and 2nd in women's 5K. As far as Lendore, does he need a qualifying time to run in the NCAA Regional outdoors? When are the qualifiers for the NCAA Indoors announced?

TFRRS should be updated by now with all the conference meets so you can get an idea of the top 16. Declarations haven't been made yet.

I think they did about as well as they could hope for. They had bad lane draws for everyone and it looks like we have some people that aren't 100% like Carlyle, Olivia, Briyahna, etc. Then if I heard right, LaQue isn't competing this year, so a lot of points are missing.

Really happy for that good 5K showing. Also, props to the men's PV crew 3-4-5

Yes, definitely. Hope he heals by the outdoor SEC meet - May 14 at Mississippi State.

Latario Collie -- I still do not understand the secrecy surrounding him [and many other things in our T&F program]. He was a superstar last year in junior college. Unless he became injured, he was a "can't miss" of getting points in the Indoor and Outdoor NCAA Championships for the next two years.

You would think that signing such a superstar would have garnered a lot of notice from somebody -- the athletic department, the sports information office, somebody. At least somebody would have said something. Maybe just a little teeny-weeny tiny notice in very small print somewhere.

But no. We are not supposed to know anything about him. To continue the secrecy surrounding him, the athletic has chosen not to even list him on the T&F roster. Maybe he is not actually enrolled in school.

What is the story about Lendore? He was injured in the SEC meet. The announcers said that he had a groin injury [which definitely does not heal quickly]. However, here he is running in the NCAA meet. What happen? I guess he is not important enough for anyone to comment about. I am certainly grateful that he had a speedy recovery.

Anyway, there is such a disconnect between our track program and the supporters who try to follow it. I do not understand why we have to be kept in the dark about everything. The T&F program earns more Learfield Sports Director Cup points than any other sport at A&M. It has allowed us to finish in the Top 10 for the past several years. Why all the secrecy?

Maybe Lendore doesn't want everyone to know everything about his groin.

Did anyone watch the indoor t&f championships on TV? It was on last night (dont know if it was a re-run) after the basketball game. Lendore got a pole vault stuck in his face while running one of his races. Got him out of stride trying to duck it. In one of womens race, Little got cut off and tripped up. That resulted in a 4th place finish when the Arkansas runner cut her off. I think bumpin and grindin is part of indoor track but the pole vault sticking out into the track was stupid. Is it normal for this to happen?
