31% of the women competing in the super 6 were from Texas, UF won the national title tonight with five Texans on its squad, and there isn't a single major university in the state that sponsors the sport. The championships were held in Ft Worth, and a woman's school was the sponsor. Seems like real low hanging fruit to be competitive nationally quickly?

A&M really seems to be missing out with gymnastics

Check out the SEC country board. Info to send email. Spread the word.
It would probably take a considerable amount of money to start a program, and a lot more to be able to compete adequately in the SEC.
We first need to get our football program on level with LSU, Auburn, and Alabama. Then more money will come in to better fund the non-revenue sports. We will need more money.
We also need to reward Coach Henry with a top-notch outdoor facility (in the works).
We eventually will definitely have to start a gymnastics program. Too many Texans doing great in gymnastics for us not to get involved. I am certain the possibility of a gymnastics program in Aggieland is being seriously considered.
But with the current AD, IMO, it is unlikely to be implemented. He does not seem to be a progressive AD.

Agree with OP. No reason not to move forward with establishing a program. Some great coaches in Houston area that might be interested also.
I think Men's Soccer should happen before gymnastics.

I don't believe there will be any more men's varsity sports added
Would we have to add more men's sports?
The equipment and insurance expenses are what keep us from adding gymnastics. Women's bowling is more likely.
