Very happy for Jeremy...the progress he has made the last four years is truly amazing....being All-American is a much deserved honor....lets keep going....

Denton and McKinley do an excellent job of player development. Kids leave as much better players than when they entered.

I was talking to Brian Boland the Virginia coach after our match Saturday and he commented on what a tough out Jeremy is....mentally so tough..he may get another crack at Virginia's number one tomorrow....we will see...

Jeremy loses 4 & 4. What a great year for the team! Now that the season is over, anyone know anything about the recruits coming in? I believe we have Henry Gordon, Kevin Lam and Oscar Janglin.

They have big shoes to fill. Sad to lose Jeremy Efferding, Jordan Szabo, Max Montague and possibly Jackson Withrow.

Attendance problems. Why?

There have been a fee hints on here of what is causing our declining attendance over the past several years even while our rankings have been getting steadily stronger (higher).

Winning and attendance are usually directly related.

Could someone provide us [me] with the appaent real reasons why our attendance is declining. There has got to be more than what have been mentioned.

I think we need someone who lives in College Station and has for some time to really give a good answer.

I know, from afar, I can't say they've promoted the team very well- although my time as an alum and away from campus has been short and I can't really compare it well to the past.

My inbox is so inundated with football this...Kyle Field that...give us more money for football, football, football...and I am sure many people around the athletic department are simply swamped by the Kyle Field project. And sadly, I think all the emails about it has made me apathetic to spending time reading whatever updates about other sports might be coming through my e-mail.

Further, even when I'm at football games, its a bunch of videos about giving money for Kyle Field. Yes, they still have a few promotions here and there, but during my time as a student under Bill Byrne's watch, there was a constant stream of promotion for the other sports.

The videos at Kyle Field seem much more focused on promoting football interests than they previously were.

I just don't hear much about the other sports.

As well you should. The Final ITA rankings have the Aggies at #5 - A&M's best ranking ever.

Number 5 ITA ranking is very nice. Great year overall. I'll take a stab at the attendance question. I really don't disagree with any of the statements about the decline in the numbers...probably a little bit of all of them. I do not have any real data, but I suspect that there has been some erosion in the stadium club season tickets which have been sold. We have a pretty solid nucleus of locals who attend most of the matches. Some are not as young as they once were, and don't really want to fight bad weather, which seems to have been a problem the last couple of years. Secondly, the student attendance is pretty spotty...some players friends show up regularly, as well as a few who are in the 12th Man Reward Program, and get credit for each event they attend. That said, I think we could do a better job of attracting student crowds. Tailgate tennis has virtually died, which during the Cass era brought out a lot of people to the pre and post games festivities. I was encouraged that the attendance issue has been discussed we some of the athletic department officials, and I am told there will be a stronger marketing effort next year....we will see. I was encouraged to see a number of familiar faces back at the courts for the SEC tournament, and quite a few made the trip to Waco. Hopefully there will be some carry-over from this years success into next year.
