Aggies lose 4-3 at #20 Kentucky. After the match Rinderknech said the refs were absolutely terrible. Same thing has been said about UK refs by Illinois #2 and an assistant coach at Ole Miss. Bama fans as well and some womens teams

Ags pick up a much needed win today in Knoxville. Sorry Rick, I hope your weekend isn't ruined. I hope you have enough video games and "nudie books" to keep you occupied until the Ags have another opportunity to lose on Friday..

Some of the individual results have really not held to form this spring to put it mildly.
I don't pay much attention....Are guys injured? Vinsant particularly....? What exactly has gone wrong. I was never in the contender camp but yikes...

Women's tennis last home match against LSU has been moved up to Friday at 2:30. The 3 seniors Inez Deheza, Anna Mamalat and Stefania Hristov played at #4, #5 and #6 when the team was National Runner-up. I plan to be there to honor these seniors who made history for the program.

Women rough up Alabama 4-0 in Baton Rouge. Will face Georgia tomorrow.

Good win today for the women. Big day tomorrow for both teams as wins all but ensures we will host first and second rounds in the NCAA tournament.

Men play the host Gamecocks early in the morning...matched moved up for weather concerns....Gamecocks took down Arkansas today.... home court advantage, but we beat them 6-1 in College Station....we will see....

Women signed a transfer from Colorado who is #42 in the country. Should be a strong team next year returning 5 of the top 6 plus her.

Men need get to step it up in singles after losing the doubles point to USC.

Arthur Rinderknech up 30-15 with a 6-5 lead in the 3rd set when the rain came. If he wins the Aggies win. Good effort by the women in a 4-1 loss to Georgia, but that probably means they go on the road for the NCAA tournament.

Ags win a close one against USC. 4-3. Play tomorrow at 11 vs Florida.

The win should clinch us hosting the first and second rounds of the NCAAs, so it was big.

Yes it was. We have dropped to the dander zone, and this win takes the question out of the case. Still have not put it all together. Maybe tomorrow.

To get back to the top ten we need more firepower at the top of the lineup. She is a nice addition though.

I agree with your statement, but she was ranked as high as anyone on the team so she should be the added firepower needed at the top of the lineup.

For a top five team, number 42 would be a nice number 3 in the line-up.I doubt a single top ten team has a number one ranked #42 or worse and most would have Number 2's ranked higher than #42. She's not any where close to being the firepower at the top of the line-up required by a top ten team.

Agree with some of what you have said, however...

#9 Pepperdine has only one ranked player (although she IS #5)

#8 Duke's #1 is 34. Their #2 is 52 (btw Duke whipped us this year)

#6 Ohio State's #2 is 75

No one said this girl is going to play #1 for a national champion, but she's as good a pickup as we could hope for.

BTW in 2013 when we made the NCAA final our #2 was ranked #39 and we only had 3 ranked players.

Also, I think when most people talk about the "top of the lineup", whether in tennis or baseball, they mean the top 2 or 3 spots (as opposed to batting leadoff or playing 1). I agree shes probably going to play and help a lot up there.

If someone is saying shes the firepower we need at #1, I also disagree. On a top 5 team you need a Sanchez-Quintanar at #1.

The team definitely needs another Cristina Sanchez or Cristina Stancu or even Nazari Urbina. That would be the 1,2,3 lineup on the current team without a doubt putting Gavrilovska at 4. This team hasn't had a true top player since those 3 moved on. If this was a true national contender team there is no way that Joffe leaves this program. He was obviously a very bright guy and If he had the level of team of 2013 there is no chance he would have left Texas A&M for Texas who doesn't even have a proper tennis facility. So I do agree that those type of players need to be brought in. On the other side to that, I don't believe any of those players were necessarily ranked all that high in their first few years of college tennis.

The transfer has had some good results prior to going to junior college at the junior and pro level so she seems to be a nice addition as well. My guess is this class coming in still isn't to the level of 2013, but it's a pretty solid class that really isn't replacing much as compared to what they are losing. Gonzalez, the freshman at 5 has been a bit of a disappointment. I had been hearing that she was the next Cristina Sanchez which obviously she is not. Good enough player to play down low, but no Sanchez to say the least.

I disagree that Howard wouldn't have left if the returning team was better. He moves around a lot & Texas was not the only job he interviewed for. We returned the entire starting lineup of a top-10 team plus supposed superstar Gonzalez. We had three players ranked in the top 50 entering the season plus Stefania ranked about 100 (losing her hurt).

So we are out of the SEC tournament. We have really missed Efferding and Szabo this season. Hopefully e can have a decent run in NCAA's.

The girlfriend thing was a smokescreen. Ask around. He never liked College Station and was eager to leave.
