While the coaching staff was disappointed that we did not get a win against number one Illinois yesterday, they were generally pleased with the way we competed, especially inside against a good program. We have a long way to go before we are a finished product, but they feel very good about our depth and the options which they have. I would expect Marvin to get into the mix fairly soon, and the jury is still out on redshirting Yevgeny. We go to Durham next weekend to play Duke. They are ranked number eight, and we always have a good match with them. Jay Lapidus runs a very classy program, and it should be another great measuring stick for our young team.

Raven: Do you see any changes being made to our doubles lineup? I was wondering if Marvin starts playing soon, if he would get into the doubles rotation too.

I think that there are a number of combinations that are possible. I would expect that there will be some experimentation with lineups,especially when we go to LaJolla.

Is Yevgeny hurt? I am not sure why he should be redshirted? I was impressed with him, and figured he could play in the lineup.
On the other hand, I hope Wooten, and Brett, and Nallon, and Khaled all keep pushing each other, to claim thier spots. I do believe Marvin will be in the mix soon.

Either way, its going to be an exciting year!

Yevgeny is not hurt. He played in the torunament hosted by the assistant coaches the week-end before the opening match. He played very well. I think the thought of redshirting him came because of our depth this year, and is not related in any way to his talent.

I did not think he was hurt because I watched him in that open. We are very deep every where, I guess its just going to be a tough call from Cass as what to do about it.
