I'm really gonna miss hockey for the next 4 months or so.

As much as I still hate Perry...I want him back on this team. Him and Pavelski were huge in the playoffs

Spent time this year watching the Stars. Mainly did that because I'm sick of the politics inserted in the NFL, NBA, and MLB.

Long story short, I feel like the NHL is a future sport I can follow. Name another sport where the champions shake the hands of their opponents after it's all over (other than tennis)? Really like the Stars and wish it had ended differently, but I was impressed overall! Dallas has a great team to be proud of.

It's not the same without the crowd there to boo Bettman.

Absolutely sign me up for one more year of Perry. As much as that kills me to say.

Possibly 2 months if the nhl has its way. That said owners will not agree to play wo fans and no way in hell players agree to a bubble season.

Hockey is a fantastic sport and it honors tradition in a way no other league in the US does, even if they like to think so. I hope you do keep following it

Underrated comment. (And I'm sure Bettman would agree haha)

As much as this one hurts, this was one of those runs we didn't expect.

The loss in the 2000 finals hurt a lot more.

Many player questions and some glaring weaknesses, but is Bowness retained as hc, or do the Stars bring in someone else?

TB was the better team and they imposed their will for most of the series. Dallas fought hard, but chased more then they pushed.

Good run, and considering all the stuff this team went thru, more positives than negatives.

Go Stars. We're still proud of the team. See ya next week for the draft.

It sucks to go out with a game like this, but I never expected the Stars to make it this far.

It was really unthinkable back in March that the Stars would make it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Heck of a run for the Stars.

I think they already told Bowness the job is his if he wants it

An article I read today said the NHLPA probably wouldn't accept anything earlier than January. Hope they can start up earlier but as you said, needs to be outside of the bubble scenario. Gets complicated with all of the different regional COVID restrictions.

I've been watching this team since I was a wee lad, and haven't been this proud of our guys in a long long time. We beat Calgary, miraculously survived mackinnon, and made easy work of a salty Vegas team. Then we ran into a Tampa team that had our number from the get go. Hard to feel disappointed tonight after playing one hell of a playoff.

As much fun as we've all had watching, I'm ready for those guys to get home to their wives and kids. The sacrifice they agreed to had to be tough.

Freaking go freaking stars!

I'm glad they're gonna get to "go home" and have a little normalcy.

But what an experience and I feel like these teams that made deep runs are gonna go into next year with something extra chemistry and brotherhood

What a crazy ride. I'm sad, but was prepared for this coming into tonight.

I'm a little worried that we don't make a run like that again without finding a goalie. The odds of Dobby, if he's even still with us next time we're making a run, doing that again is slim I'd think. And most of our big contributors are getting pretty long in the tooth. Hopefully our young guys learn from this and are able to grow into future leaders for long playoff runs, but that's difficult to project.
Heiskanen looked lost most of the Final, scared to shoot it and was always looking to pass, even when there was a clear lane to shoot. That's something I hadn't seen from him before.
And Klingberg was a massive liability at our defensive blue line and the neutral zone, more than usual.

I hope this gives us a springboard to success, but remember the 20 loooooong years since the last game 6 loss in the Final.

Oh well. Crazy unexpected run, filled with crazy comebacks and OT winners. TB was just too difficult to overcome once our injuries kept piling up.

I mean, Ben Bishop IS that goalie when healthy I think

I would agree he has that possibility, but I assume injury will continue to plague him as it has. He's had lower body injuries every year with Dallas, and had them multiple years with Tampa Bay. And he's almost 34 now and only getting older.

I just don't think he'll ever have the health to play like Dobby played. People who are 6'7 don't tend to recover well from recurring lower body injuries. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong over the next couple of years, but based on history (especially recent history) that seems like an unlikely scenario.

To rehash my "Whose jersey did I want to buy" post, I was a Tyler Seguin jersey wanting guy for a long time but honestly after watching Jamie Benn, the Captain, play his heart out, step UP his play all playoffs long, and seeing his responses afterwards last night, I think I'm going with a Jamie Benn jersey. I see his contract is through 2025 so he'll be here a while and hopefully won't go anywhere else. Maybe they will sell some Stanley Cup specific jersey soon? Anyway, I'm going with a Jamie Benn jersey.

I got a McDonagh sweater back in '14 after his play for the Rangers.

Glad he gets to finally put his name on the Cup, but wish it was for NYR.

It was also a little hollow seeing Tampa Bay celebrate with only the janitor and the zamboni driver. Wish Dallas would have won, but champions deserve to celebrate with their fans. I wonder if DeSantis opened up Florida last week in anticipation of a parade through downtown Tampa/St Pete. I hope they get to have one.

I cant remember two seasons ago but my season thread (18/19) only made us to the second round while Kash got us to the Finlas this season. He should definitely be our thread starter when its time.

Yeah, I think there was growing expectation he was going to need surgery for something. He just seemed too off for it to simply be a slump.

Their boat parade was pretty cool, I have to admit
