58'11.25! What a debut for the freshman after only a few weeks of practice! A whole month left to qualify for nationals! I like his chances if he keeps improving! He gets 60 next week at home without a doubt!

This is the longest slowest track meet ever! Whoever the meet director is at Gilliams deserves a fruit basket, this Tech meet is atrocious

Very much so! I agree with letting a lot of athletes compete, but you can combine heats and maybe stop running 2 runners/relay teams per heat! I've seen the SEC indoor meet have 30+ girls run a 3000 why can't a random ass meet at Tech do so lol! A&M can run a whole one day meet faster than each day of this Tech meet! Can't wait to be back in Gilliam next week!

Yeah LSU, NCA&T, and Kentucky are going to be loaded! I thought Bamidele would be the main dude at anchor, but I suppose he's still recovering from his injury that didn't let him race since March 2020! Maybe Mpoke can be a 45 guy after he ran that outdoors. But it's going to need to be a strong collection of 4, running sub 46! We were spoiled having a Kerley, a Dixon, then a Deadmon to rely on
Add Florida to the mix. They ran 3.03.21 today (4th fastest in their school history)

Looks like the A-team got DQed.
I think some of our times could have been better this season so far if we had better competition to date.
We have not met up with some of the better school and many of them don't come to our indoor meets in College station like USC, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, LSU, Tennessee etc.
We have one more home meet so it is time to get Charokee Young, James Smith, Mpoke, Jania Martin etc on track to get some potential qualifying times.

He's close to hitting a big throw, he needs more reps with that 16 pound ball! A smoother ending to his throw and he gets up to 65! Each year in high school he progressively built up to his state meet! He shockingly always finished the year WAY BETTER than he started! So I have faith big throws are on the way!
I am a big fan of improving throughout the year. Kind of what Adabie is doing. I think a lot of that has to with attitude. To push yourself every week to do better. It works.

I really like the men's 4x4 group we put together at Tech. They just need a little more racing and some stick work and they'll be fine. That group will run 3:04 this year indoors.
The girls running 3:31 without their fastest leg (Young) is encouraging...not to mention the 51 split out of Robinson-Jones. I think they go 3:27 or 3:28 this year.

Agree on both relays! I really think Hanson, Miller and Bamidele are both going to be under 46 easily! Mpoke can push for a spot and hopefully run under as well! I'm so happy Syaira looks healthy and she's a fighter so when she's pushed a 51 may come out as well! We just need to find a 4th between Jania Martin, Laila Owens, or Kennedy Wade
I think Owens ends up as good as anyone on the relay (this side of Young).
