That is not correct, USA gets plenty of coaches watching. Now the level of coaches may be different. Most of the players being recruited by Top 25 teams come from the open courts but geography also plays a huge role as well. The number one recruit in 2024 or 25 plays for a club in Idaho I believe. They may play open and I have seen some clubs from that area in Open but also maybe playing USA due to rest of roster

Good players who will make an impact can be found in different levels all the time

What level of college ball matters. Now for TAMU I would imagine for nationals they are looking at USA, National and Open level courts but my old roommate is a D3 head coach and he found three players that will start for him next season in the American division but like i said D3

Yes.

She did transfer. Not sure if she was third string after spring ball and or she was recruited by previous staff and didn't feel same connection but If you are running with three setters on roster having two freshman and a seldom used junior wasnt the best in terms of roster management. This gives the option to the staff but I have found that honestly we have given the reigns to setters for many years in a row. Last year was the exception it seems since like early 2000s.

We can possibly go after another hitter or back row and add to the depth of the team! Who knows maybe there's some elite athletes graduating from other schools looking for a new home!

According to Liberty's schedule we play Houston (Sept 13th) and Liberty (Sept 15th) This is at home

Also Kentucky comes here NOv 16th

We go to Bowling Green to play Bowling Green Wright State and Loyola first weekend in Sept
We have our home tourney the next weekend...unsure of who is playing but last year was a great field with Hawaii and two teams that made final four in San Diego and Pitt

Decent size for an outside, comes from an up and coming club in Austin. Came on really strong toward the end of her freshmen season for Sacred Heart. Not sure why we took an outside over a setter. Hope we still add a setter, almost desperately need another

I dont think we need a setter for this season unless it is a transfer that is a grad student like last season and they would likely only come if they thought they would get the starting position

We need to space out the setters so either a 2025 or a 2024 who maybe willing to redshirt unless pressed into duty

We have a junior and freshman on roster now. New staff but both previous staffs ran with a setter for three plus years until last season

Understand that, but given the amount of unproven talent and injury situations, I think it would be wise to bring in a 3rd proven setter. Not sure it's going to be a position of strength this year

That's awesome! I can't imagine getting to watch a family member suit it up for the Ags!! I'm hoping to make several games this year with my daughters.

Looks like Faye W has transferred to UTSA. Great landing spot for her, she's struggled since she got to campus. Curious if they backfill the scholarship! Faye is a former top 100 recruit

It seemed like there could have been some here who may have some deeper insights into the program. Wondering if anyone has heard any thing on the new coach? He's certainly has an impressive resume in the world of volleyball. What has he been like as a coach of a D1 program?

Schedule is out.

Not very big matches in the beginning

Northern Iowa is a very good team historically and Houston was very good last year. Would like to see us camp up the away tourneys in next couple of years.

This is really huge for Aggie volleyball. Kirra is a top 3-4 setter in the COUNTRY! Will be fun to see how the rest of the 2025 class comes together.

Here is some film on her, Megan Fitch. Looks like a legit 6 rotation OH. We haven't had a decent one sense Hollan! Jamie and team have hit the ground running with recruiting.

Spot on about Megan. She is a legit 6-position outside. She led Alamo to a VERY surprising open national championship in 15 Open two nationals ago. Alamo was the only at-large qualifier and ended up winning the whole thing -- largely because of her ... Kirra Musgrove is a tall lefty setter that sets and hits for Skyline's 17 team that just finished Top 4 at nationals (she plays up). She has improved as much as any 2025 kid over the last couple of seasons. Both high quality players that will help us long term.

Didnt Alamo take a big step back this year when the other OH left to go to another club? I wondered if that was due to Megan getting all the pub but I recall the other girl could really jump.

Honestly, it's hard to know whether they took a step back or just had an absolute AMAZING (and unexpected) run the year before. This year, they qualified in open but didn't make it out of pool play. And, you're right about their second outside. She definitely left but I'm not sure why.

Skyline is probably the most talented and most hated club in central Texas. No doubt that club has top tier talent. They have a bad rep in the coaching community, but it's mainly because their **** don't stink
