We are facing South Carolina this afternoon at Reed. South Carolina is a SEC cellar team at 1-5 in the conference so far.
Interesting. I am not sure we are on a down year but rather have 4-5 teams that are really good but crap the bed a couple of times. Florida without Stucky isnt near as strong, they were a top 5 team with her. Arkansas could actually be a top 5 team IMO. They have no weaknesses and at 17-2 or something like that the only losses to Wisconsin who is #1kwammer said:
in what is a down year for SEC vball, if this team can continue to improve, a top 4 finish is probable.
I don't get why people were so surprised by the loss to Missouri. They have an assistant coach that was here last year and was the main recruiter for most of the girls on our roster. They knew our weaknesses and exposed them. Not only did they target the right players in serve receive, but they did the same thing with their attacking. They went where they knew we were weak and it showed. Mizzou owes that win to Wendel Camargo. That and a terrible game from the serving line.Wicked Good Ag said:The Missouri loss is perplexing to me.kwammer said:

Would also like another setter, even a transfer. Next year I could see Manning taking over a 5-1 with the right development. You can tell she's way ahead of Nina defensively. No matter what, they will more than likely be giving away at least 3 rotations in 2025 to Musgrove.
This year has been tough when in ruts. We don't have any other setting options to try to change the flow, even if our setters aren't doing great. Even a S/DS would be interesting
I'm no expert but it felt both teams' defenses, digs in particular, are a few steps above ours. The pass quality even on a tough dig allowed them counter attack more frequently. It's not good enough to just a ball up, but need to get it to the setter too.Wicked Good Ag said:
TCU almost knocked off Texas losing 15-13 in the fifth last night. Would have helped with our RPI a bit
TCU ball control on serve receive is light years ahead of us right now...that was evident from last night matchflintdragon said:I'm no expert but it felt both teams' defenses, digs in particular, are a few steps above ours.
