There is also a home game Thursday against Winnipeg.

This was also a reason that February was going to be a brutal month. Not only did they play top playoff teams every other game, but they were away from home for basically the whole month.

This is also why I will temper my judgement of this team some for the time being. Are we firing on all cylinders and is everything hunky-dory? No, we still need help on D (although have we really missed Hakanpaa? Pouliot seems fine to me), and I firmly believe that it's time to get Stankoven and Bourque in the team full time. But I also think this team looks pretty exhausted, beat to hell, and in need of homestand.

This February has been rough, but it gets better soon. March has only 1 back-to-back. And while we do have 2 road trips, they're out west where the competition isn't as tough (only 2 of the 7 on the trips are against playoff teams), and they're broken up by a 5 game homestand. Then we wrap up with 5 of 7 at home in April.

Meanwhile, Winnipeg has an absolutely brutal March. 3 back-to-backs and a 5 game roadtrip in there.

Getting out of this month on top of the Central would be huge.

I don't know the math on everything, but I wish they'd manipulate the cap ala Tampa, Vegas, etc. Leave Dadonov on LTIR through the end of the regular season, let the kids play, and go get 2 defensemen. Then, activate Daddy for the playoffs. Tanev +1 would be amazing.

Tonight is a big one. Feels like an important 2 points with the Isle's being pretty average this year and having to play the aves tomorrow AND a flight to Colorado.
