My honest reaction
Aston will still never be a serious F1 team or real competitor until they axe Lance Stroll

I don't care about Aston's respectability. I just want Alonso to get the car he deserves for once in his career.

Calling my shot now, Verstappen moves to Aston after Alonso retires.

I hope they get it together in time for Alonso. I guess with the new regs coming up there is a chance for a shakeup across the grid.

When do those take affect? I can't remember

2026. Newey's gardening leave will run out in March.

Edit: 2025 will be an entertaining F1 season. Some teams will choose to develop their current cars and go for broke next year while others go conservative. Really has a chance to be a 2012-like season.

Posted on the IndyCar thread, but highly likely Prema are considering Mick Schumacher and Logan Sargeant for these seats.

Howdy! Class of '19 here, just wanted to post again sharing our F1 Podcast, Turn 1. We are trying to build it up and it would be awesome if we could get Aggie support through subscribers and commenters. Our goal each week is to pose a central thought that we discuss/debate and seek to engage with the audience in the comments about the topic. Recently, the main topics have been centered on McLaren chasing down Red Bull and their odd strategical decisions and the ever changing 2025 grid with driver announcements dropping rapidly! I'll link our most recent episode, any thoughts on our content or how to improve would be greatly appreciated.

We have two different styles of video, the side-by-side videos and an in-studio setup but I always try to rep some A&M gear or decor. We'll also be in Austin for the USGP, hoping to film a ton of content there!

One of the strangest things I've seen. Both Campos cars had brake failures on the same out lap and same corner.

Albon gets released with support equipment attached. Cooling fan with dry ice.

Vowles is giving someone a redundancy come Monday.

Colapinto and Bearman outperforming their senior teammates is just proof F1 is missing out on a lot of drivers because teams keep signing the same old guys like Hulkenberg, Bottas, K Mag.

We never got to see people like Pourchaire, Shwartzmann, Lundgaard reach F1.

Sadly I don't see Colapinto getting a seat for a full season knowing the talent that is climbing up the ranks in F2-F4. It's just a matter of the F1 teams giving them a chance, and of course the budget they bring...thankfully Freddie Slater is loaded so reaching F1 shouldnt be an issue for him

Albon is the most overrated driver on the grid.

McLaren: "Okay Lando - you are our best hope and we will support you and give you priority"

Lando: "Does that still apply if I totally **** up and start from 17th on the grid"

McLaren: "Oscar? Oscar? where are you? We would like to have a follow up discussion with you on strategy"

Norris has the skills definitely to be a world champion in an appropriate car. But, like golf, so much of winning is mental.

Has it been determined if a real yellow flag was out in his section or did the team screw up and say there was a yellow?

Because it's a pay for play sport. Sponsors are a hell of a drug....

That was crazy. I wonder what happened. It almost looked like road rage or something, the way Sainz just took a hard left right into Perez. I wonder if something with the air pressure pulled Sainz car.

Unlike F1 cars F2 don't have anti stalling, that's why these kind of things are more common in F2-F4 (F1 Academy has had a few this year).

When they switched from the GP2 car to the Formula 2 car in the second year of the rebrand a few races started with a rolling start because back then the big issue was the reliability of the clutch.

Looks like Sainz drifted into Perez following after Leclerc. No major turns of the wheel from either (until after contact).

It looks like Perez's front right tyre contacted Sainz's rear left tyre, causing Sainz's car to lose control and take a hard left right into Perez.

The contact was tread to tread, not side to side.

That was all on Sainz. Such garbage. But I'm still not sure why Checo wasn't more defensive.

Yeah, I can see that now. The first angle I saw this morning, it didn't look like they contacted. It looked like Sainz just took a hard left (even though that made no sense). Seeing more replays, I can now see that Perez hit Sainz tire first.
