He got over to Adam Yates in a hurry.

It's over..... Jonas had too much to overcome from his major crash. Todaj is such a beast.

maybe, but Jonas started the race. He believed he had what it takes to win. Tadej is just better this year. By a pretty decent margin.

Not arguing Tadej is in peak form. Its great to see him attack instead of just sitting on his wheel all the way up the last climbs. Last year (I think) he entered the race with a broken wrist that I am sure hampered his preparation.

Just saying Jonas is suffering like Tadej did last year.

Tadej made that look effortless

The only stage Jonas has won this year is a sprint at the line after Tadej attacked first. Today Jonas attacked first 6.5 miles from the finish. Tadej got to ride his wheel for 4 miles before he put in his attack. Jonas went too early.

Tadej has brought fun back to racing. It's really really hard not to like him.

I know cycling and fitness technology improves every year but the number of riders who had record times up the Plateau de Beille is incredible...

Back to the mountains.........

Will the sprinters with no shot at the green jersey start to go home, like Cav?

He was 3:30 back in a group with Remco/Jonas just chillin, and Matteo J was about to get the stage win.

He went like he was shot out of a cannon, and made up the gap in like 3 miles. Beat Matteo by a minute.

Matteo was absolutely wrecked. Gave Pogacar a quick look as Pogacar came onto his back wheel and it was over from there. Pogacar took off and Matteo had no reaction whatsoever.

The only battle remaining is between Jonas and Remco. I am super impressed on how well Jonas is riding based on the injuries earlier this year. I was not a fan of him prior to this year. That man has some guts and is a fighter. You can also tell that not winning is tearing him apart.

Gutted for Matteo. He's been on incredible form since joining Jumbo. Wonder what the Vuelta could look like if he and Sepp can make the squad.

This year certainly was Tadej's revenge tour. He's been extremely fun to watch.

The lack of preparation caught up with Jonas in Week 3.

I still think its funny, this time last year when Jonas was 7min up, journalists were questioning if Jonas/Jumbo was doping. We have records being set on climbs by the top 3 and not even a whisper.... what's the difference this years? Only once has Jonas been able to match Tadej on a climb...

Its been fun watching Tadej attack every mountain stage.

Every thread I see on any social platform starts with a doping conversation.

I don't buy that a guy who won in 2020, 2021 and was runner up in 2022/2023 just all the sudden started doping.

He's been an absolute animal his whole life and apparently finally has a proper trainer. His previous trainer sounds like a dumbass.

It was mostly a bit of sarcasm. Last year, the TV was talking about doping allegations. This year nothing.

Tadej has been fun to watch. Wish he could somehow try the Vuelta.

Next year, Hopefully we can get a healthy/properly pre-tour prepped Jonas with a strong team vs this new and improved Tadej.

Is Tadej doing the Olympics? What a series of wins that would be.

Tadej wasn't any fun today. Just sat and let everyone do the work and then took the W at the end.

I like it better when he takes the initiative and "earns" the stage win
Chipotlemonger

Well if no one is going to step up and take it from him then he still earned it. May not be as flashy all the time but a W is a W and with his overall lead he doesn't need to risk it.

3 TDF victories with 15 stage wins. Just hanging back not doing work.

haha. I feel like you had to bend yourself into a pretzel to misunderstand me.

I'm a BIG pogacar fan! I know all about his titles and stage wins. I simply said that I liked most of his other stage wins better. he sat on the Dane's wheel for 7k and only took one very small 50 meter pull over that 7k and then raced around him.

I absolutely understand and if I were in that position I would do the exact same thing. It just wasn't the normal Tadej that I've loved watching the last 5+ years.

I would have either liked to have seen him help pull with Ving a little bit and then torched him like that, or I would've liked to see him just sort of ease past him and win. Not sit on wheel for 7k and then race out to a 7 second win.

It just wasn't my favorite TDF stage win from my favorite biker. Luckily he has 16 to choose from, hopefully 17 come tomorrow

I may recant for a different reason though. On 9/13, I said that I hoped Pogacar trounces JV for what he and PR were doing to Kuss in the Vuelta…so actually today's win over JV was an answer to my own stated hopes from then

That was extremely fun to watch! Tadej's form is unmatched. Just dominating

3 stages in a row, 6 stages in TDF 2024, 17th career stage in Tour de France.
Heck, 12 Grand Tour stages this year alone

Overall a good tour this year! Tadej and Jonas are great to watch. See y'all again next year.
