For those that were here last season, what a ride it was and welcome back to a new year of Aggie Volleyball! For those who joined just in time for the amazing post season tournament run and wish to learn more about this team and follow along this year, well here's a great start! This thread is full of Aggie volleyball fanatics, casual fans, and home to you newcomer Aggie volleyball fans! This thread is open to all, the more the merrier! Last year our girls finished 5th in the conference earning a 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament. We took down Colorado State before upsetting a 3 seed Arizona State at their house to reach the sweet 16 where we lost in a heartbreaking 5th set to national powerhouse Wisconsin.

The Aggies lost one rotation player to graduation in Ellee Stinson and one player to the transfer portal Ital Lopuyo. We bring back every other starter including All Americans Logan Lednicky and Ifenna Cos-Okpalla. We also added former 5 star recruit Kyndal Stowers out of Baylor, as well as a top ten recruiting class featuring 4 fantastic freshman Addi Applegate, Megan Fitch, Taryn Morris, and Kirra Musgrove.

Stay tuned this season because I believe we can make a huge run, with 10 seniors, so much continuity and returning production, as well as the addition of some elite talent… I believe Jamie Morrison and these ladies can have an amazing season! Links to season tickets will be posted soon, a weekend spent at Reed watching team is well worth the price of admission! Let's cheer our ladies on and hope for a great season!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also I mentioned on the 2024 thread, but after the spring scrimmages and leading into the season I'll post an in-depth bio summary of every single lady on the roster! One athlete a week!

Super excited though it's not even April yet. If Coach Morrison is as good as we think he is, the ladies are going to make some waves this year. I would say we probably surprised some people last year. My non-Aggie friends never even heard of Lednicky. They do now! I think a lot of top teams have lost outstanding senior (and super senior) talent so if things go our way, we have a chance to establish ourselves in the top 10 early and hopefully stay there a long time.

It took coach a couple years to get the right girls together and they played liked a team. He also seems to be able to train and get each player to play at their best.

With all the shenanigans going on with the men's sports, it's going to be up to this team to show them how it is done. Just like softball, the potential is there to play very good ball.

A really under appreciated aspect of this program has been to development of the ladies who joined this program 3 years ago! The growth in their all around game is evident and I'm excited to see them take another step forward! Last off season we had a new setter on the team as well as 2 new outsides in the rotation! All these girls will be another 12 months more familiar with each other! That continuity is rare in today's game!

I too think we'll be a top ten or top 12 team to start the season! We know we'll play Minnesota early, another top 25 match pre conference would be huge for our RPI, with the tough SEC schedule! I'd really love to see us host this season and think we're capable if we take care of business!

That Wisconsin match was one of the most watched matches of the tournament! On a national stage, our girls showed their Aggie toughness and passion! I like to believe America was rooting for us and they will all be interested in our team this fall!! Let's put on a show!

Roster is solid...wish we had a third backup middle for the season. I can see us fighting for top 3 in conference this year if we continue from where we left over at the end of last season

That will be in 2026 not 2025 we have no offical backup like we did with Molly Brown last year who was more than capable of coming into the match.

I will assume Morrison will have a plan in place

couple of takeaways for me:
1. says this is the deepest roster A&M probably has ever had. Hadn't really thought about it but I think he's right though I'm a bit new to Aggie volleyball since the Hollan Hans days... It's time we had big talent in all positions and very capable backups to them.

2. This is year 3 for him. It also didn't really occur to me or I had forgotten, last year was just year 2. Pretty dang amazing improvement. The difference between year 1 and 2 is startling. I remember attending a home game in year 1 where we got swept. It was how we lost that was upsetting. My kids were verbally wondering why we looked so bad. That season was very up and down I remember.

No coverage at all, not even live updates. Not unusual for Spring matches. A few on this thread will be attending tonight so we might get occasional reporting during the action and after-action reports.

Most of the girls should see action and it should be fun for all of them !!
