With all the overflow why can't we build some additional seating? Who knows, we could have drawn 5000-6000 with sufficient seating.

Fri or Sat games that can be coordinated around football could draw better.

Also, at what attendence level does soccer start to pay for iteself?

You won't see soccer pay for itself. There's just no way.

As for building more stands, they had a whole lot of portable stands set up that did their job nicely. You need to remember that not every game is like that one. School wasn't in session yet and there is also a soccer tournament there this weekend, so the crowd was much larger than usual. Building more stands would just be a waste most of the time, unfortunately.

I'm sure that they'll have plenty of stuff ready to go by the Final Four next year, don't worry. It'll look unbelievable then.

They wont build anything new as far as bleachers because there is no room....those bleachers they put out there last night will do fine for these few games here early....it wil be crowded for a while as long as we win because the teams we have coming in here to play are all very good teams....anyway those stands on the grass do not need to be there because they absolutely kill the grass and have to be moved every game, so that is why they will not build stand over there because of the room not being there....and on the benches side penberthy is too close to build anything over there.

Long-term, Penberthy could be reconfigured to allow for stands on that side. But I think they are much better off in the short-term to keep the venue its current size. The small venue creates a better atmosphere than playing in a larger, not filled park.

gibby's right. it's already pretty cramped. to add/improve the seating...they'll have to create a lot more room. it'll need to happen though eventually for the final 4.

They're getting ready to expand the seating as part of renovations to prepare for the 2005 College Cup, which A&M will host. I don't know if anything will happen for this season besides planning, but it is gonna happen. They also plan to put in a press box. Not all of the seating will be permanent, but some of it will.

I was at the game and I sure was glad to see that kind of a crowd for our Aggie girl's soccer team! Fantastic. I wish I would have had a place in the stands to stand...I ended up sitting on the grass. Had a great time and can't wait to make it to another game! For now, I am headed up to Utah for work...and another Aggie game!!!! WHOOP! It is good to be back in Texas!
