Monaco just gets worse.

F1 seems to have no problem abandoning legacy tracks, when is this going to become one of them? This hasn't been a compelling race in years.
They should run this race with the drivers driving those LEGO f1 cars
(Lance stroll still dnf after crashing into wall and having to be towed in)

I've heard next year it's going to be on foot
I think you're onto something. Drive 10 laps, 500m swim, drive 10 laps, 10k bike, drive 10 laps, 5k run, drive 10 laps. Way more interesting, though the swim transition may take a few minutes.
Kimi is just on a heater.
Also, was there something off this year? I've never seen sooooooo many pit lane penalties.

Well, that was funny watching Stroll and LeClerc eat it at the exact same spot. Lol.

They weren't measuring the actual speed of the cars in the pitl ane but rather tracking the time it takes them to travel between two fixed points at the entrance and exit of the pit lane.
Because the very end of the pit lane is curved you can actually travel a slightly more direct and shorter distance between the two measuring points than what was being measured. So while your vehicle speed would remain constant and under the limit, the system would measure you taking less than the allowed amount of time to travel between the two points and flag you as speeding in the pit lane.
It's really dumb and why so many people got hit with speeding.

F1 manufacturers and the FIA have agreed to stagger the shift to 60/40 ICE/battery power split over next two years.

So 20kW increase to ICE next year before 50kW lift for 2028. Means 58/42 split next year. #F1. pic.twitter.com/88JXuM7Ild
🚨 | BREAKING: Alpine's petition for a right to review Gasly's Monaco penalty has been deemed admissible.
— formularacers (@formularacers_) June 11, 2026
New evidence haa been submitted suggesting the calculated pit-lane speed (based on distance used by live timing) was "inaccurate".
The FIA will now review their decision.

Going from rarely having pit speed issues to multiple violations in one race should have been a big clue to F1 that something was wrong as the race was happening.
Yeah, I mean it's not like they literally have a button that limits their speed to under the threshold in the pit, why wouldn't 25% of the field's speed limiter be malfunctioning?

IMO Liam Lawson could also be in trouble if Nikola Tsolov keeps performing like he is
Three things had to line up for the stewards to overturn this.

1. The rule never says the timing system is the final word. The speeding rule (Article B1.6.3a) just says there's a speed limit, 60 km/h at Monaco. It doesn't say "speed as measured by the official timing system".… https://t.co/773MICdUls

Just flipped on Amazon Prime is they're broadcast Monaco F3 on the F1 channel…how long has Amazon been broadcasting the channel?
I have no idea but thanks for the tip. With all the streaming options it's so hard to keep up. I remember watching the Speed Channel on satellite back in the day. They always had something good on.
