Location: Paul Derr Track and Field Facility - Raleigh, North Carolina
Date: March 27-29

Live Results: https://flashresults.com/2026_Meets/Outdoor/03-26_RaleighRelays/index.htm

It's distance weekend and no better place to be running than in Raleigh, North Carolina . The Aggies will be sending a group of their distance runners to compete in this FAST and highly competitive meet that is renowned for producing fast distance times early in the outdoor season.

The Aggies will fittingly have 12 athletes compete: 7 women and 5 men today and tomorrow. Today will be the men competing in the 1500, 5000, and the 10,000. No men will be competing in the steeple yet. In the 1500 we will have Ondrej Gajdos and Youssef Asslouj. In the 5000 we will have Victor Kibiego. In the 10000 we will have Jack Johnston and Michael Moiben. In this race, the fastest heats will be at the end. In the 1500, Gajdos is in the first to last flight and Asslouj in the one before. Kibiego will be running in the fast heat of the 5000. He ran really well at indoor conference in his only meet indoors. After some battles with injuries this may be the healthiest he has been in a really long time. I'm excited to see what he does this season, especially in the steeple. In the 10k, Moiben and Johnston will be in the last heat as well and it will be loaded. We'll also get to see Aggie Pro Cooper Cawthra running the 1500.

Friday on the women's side we'll have a strong contingent as well. First up we'll have the 1500 where we will have Sophia Bendet and Elise Smoot in the 2nd to last heat. After qualifying for the mile finals in conference, I'm excited to see them run the 1500 outdoors. After, we'll have our steeplers: Debora Cherono, Kennady Fontenot, and Emma Little run the 3000 steeple. Cherono and Fontenot made the nationals finals in this event last year while Little made the national prelims! Let's see how they open up in their steeple season debut. Cherono and Fontenot are in the fast heat and will be pushed by OU's Leah Jeruto. About 4 hours later we'll have Joyce Kemboi and Megan Roberts race in the 10000 Invitational which will feature a LOADED field with some of the NCAA's best.

While distance runners usually run their best later in the outdoor season, this meet could fast enough for us to get some top 48 regional times. The competition will be crazy and the fast times will come. Both days should be full of exciting performances and we may see some school records fall, for sure some movement on the All Time Aggie Lists! Let's wish our distance runners the best of luck and hope for an amazing weekend of distance running!

I'm alive lol! Been busy but I was following along, just never had much time to post

After the 1500, Debora Cherono won the steeple over a talented runner from OU with a 9:56! Which is impressive cause steeples an event where everyone always seems to open up really slowly! Behind her was Emma Little at 10:41 and Kennady Fontenot at 10:48! They're recovering from injuries so I expect them to drop those times significantly as the season goes on!

Then only Megan Roberts raced the 10k and she ran a HUGE PR of 32:57. Last year she opened up with a 33:31, so big race for her!
