Meet: Penn Relays

The legendary Penn Relays are here and it's time for our Aggies to step on the historic and storied Franklin Field and put together some fast relays. The Aggies are sending up some of their best athletes and will be contesting most of the relays being held. It's a long 3 day meet and we'll see Aggies each day in relays and in some open events. It's a meet where we have thrived in historically. It's time to add some more trophies and school records from this meet.

We will have a couple distance runners in PA, as well as have some hurdlers. As for relays, the men will have a 4x100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, DMR, and Sprint Medley Relay. Wow. Our women will have all but the 4x800, 4x1500, Sprint Medley Relay. Understandable with our lack of mid distance depth on the women's side.

The good news is that in the 4x200, Adriana Tatum is listed and she hasn't ran once this outdoor season. She can be a major contributor for us in the 4x100, 100, and 200 at the national level. On the men's side Richard Lee Jr is listed after not having competed this outdoor season.

Im really excited for the men's 4x800. The competition there with Villanova, Oregon, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Penn State, and Michigan will be intense and I hope there's some fast times! I'm also really excited for our women's 4x200.

I just checked the forecast and Saturday looks to be cold & wet, high 52 and 85% chance of rain....

Seems like it's happened every Penn Relays the past few years

but Friday looks to be near perfect weather, looking forward to DMR & SMR

I believe our 4X800 should be one of the best if the weather doesn't slow em down.....

Taylor, I don't see our pole vaulters listed on the Start List for Saturday. I may be missing something.

I hope the weather holds out there and they can run all the events. Like Doitbest said, the Men's 4x800 ought to be good.

They used to but stopped for a while. There was a huge collection of penn relay wheels in a storage closet at the outdoor track. In high school I always wanted to run there and disappointed I didn't get to. If I had to guess Coach Henry wanted to take the sprinters somewhere warmer

Case in point, events don't get rained out in Lubbock or Tempe very often lol

We used to host meets on this weekend or go to LSU or somewhere else. Then he started getting the itch to go back a few years ago. But my point was it's only ever been runners that go to Penn, never jumpers/throwers.

It seemed like and odd set up for field events there as well, get a hand stamp to exit the stadium then down the hill & across the street some where? I have no idea what those facilities look like though, didn't have a real reason to try...

Men's Sprint Medley Relay of Lawson Jacobs, Blake Holland, Kimar Farquharson, and Peter Narumbe comes in second to Georgetown. Both teams demolished the field

Men won't run the run 4 x mile

Not the best time, but women win the 4x100 in 43.88! Second wheel for the ladies

These time are really slow, what's the weather like?

Men lose to UTech and a school called Bryant & Stratton

4x800 opens with a 1:49.72 from Stefon Dodoo, in 3rd

But then Peter Narumbe runs a 1:45.6 to give the Aggies the lead

Grant Ashby runs a 1:49.4 to fall back to 3rd

Penn State 3rd leg goes 1:45, Michigan goes 1:46
