It looks like the soccer team is on track towards greatness again!

The freshmen seem to be finding their feet. Today, Pistorius had a goal along with fellow freshman Amy Berend. And, it sounds like Paige Carmichael is already a big fan favorite.

I don't know what happened this week leading up to the tu game (compared to the last 2) but it's nice to see these highly toughted Fish starting to produce.

Getting the win over tu with the Big 12 season ahead of them should only boost confidence, even though it looks like CU and KU also had big weekends.

Colorado beat Utah and Wake Forest on the road, while Kansas whacked Furman and Clemson in South Carolina!

I am starting to make plans now to get down to Aggieland for that Kansas game in October. If both teams carry on, that might be the regular season championship game! Granted, there is lots of soccer to be played, and we did struggle on the road in 2003 (tied KU in Lawrence and OSU in Stillwater, then lost at Mizzou).

I think the freshman are starting to work their way in. I found it interesting that in the Texas match Amanda Burke and Emma Smith didn't start. I know Emma was hurt, but she still wound up playing, so I figure they knew she was ready. There are three freshmen -- Carmichael, Pistorius and Berend -- that are quickly becoming starters. Garey and some others have become reliable subs. As much as I like Burke, Smith and some of the other players that have been there for a couple years, it's good for the team that the freshmen are stepping up so fast.

Emma's been having a rough season so far. She got injured again last night, although I don't know the extent of it. Looked like she was holding her head again though.
