If this turns into a worst case scenario, I think you could conceivably say the US will screw themselves out of the World Cup in Germany. Their draw isn't friendly by any stretch of the imagination and sending a bunch of college players to Trinidad turns what should be a sure away win (something that should be relished in qualification) into a very dicey situation not to mention the fact that I don't see too many teams play well when they aren't allowed a few friendlies and a training camp. For everything that soccer has achieved here in the last few years since Korea, this could potential knock it back to square one...and I don't think that's being overly dramatic.
