What a great week for us all on this board. Here is to all 4 English teams advancing (although I doubt Liverpool will).

Yeah, Liverpool is going to have problems with Leverkusen. To be honest, all of the ties should be competitive and I think I would give my right arm to see Chelsea and Barcelona. Those are the two best teams in the CL IMO.

Chelsea/Barcelona will be awesome. Sadly, I fear Arsenal might get beaten pretty badly by Bayern.

Wouldn't it be great to see PSV play Leverkusen in the semis? A Donovan vs Beasley match for a whole lot of bragging rights.

Beasely and Donovan facing off would be sweet. Sadly, I don't know PSV can get there and even if they can I don't know that Donovan will see time in MF as Ponte is playing really well for Leverkusen. The mere fact that that Americans are getting into CL games is sweet though.

Ag Since '83 looks like Nostradamus early. Bayern Munich up 1-0 after 3 minutes. Apparently, Toure muffed a Kahn clearance allowing Piazzaro to score early (God I love Soccernet's live commentary...it makes work bearable)

are teams from England and France the only ones that can really win the 'quadruple'? Since they are the only ones that have 2 domestic cups?

so for english teams it would be

premiership
champions league
fa cup
league cup

basically any combo of wins without the champions league is not worthy of the name quadruple is it?

such as liverpool in 2001

well, as much as I hate to see my Gunners lose that bad...at least it was my second favorite team to hand them the loss.

Yeah, Liverpool's "treble" in 2001 is pretty weak. Arsenal reached the quarters of the CL that year, and I'd much rather do that than win the UEFA Cup.

As for today, at least Arsenal got an away goal. Last year we lost 3-0 to Inter and then beat them 5-1, so you never know.
