I'm sure most of the soccer fans here have heard about the friendly scheduled for Memorial Day weekend. Anyone planning on making the trip up to Chicago?

my sister is getting married that day. then i'm driving to my fiance's family reunion...so it's safe to say that i'll probably miss it.

I want to go, but I can't. Hopefully, all my Chelsea boys will be playing in Turkey and will have to miss it anyway. Chelsea is supposed to be coming to the States again this summer, and I would like to see them again.

Man does Arsene Wenger have a life? He's raising a fit about the tour saying its too close to the end of the season. Seriously, I think if he had his way, there would be no national teams.

Still, it is a friendly & Errickson always seems to do weird experiments so no biggie if we don't produce the goods on the day. More interested in Euro 2006 in Germany. Might try to go there for some England games.

yeah, i remember that match where we beat the Lads back in the 90's. good times.

This meeting will always be more important to US soccer fans than it will be to English fans because we're not supposed to win...unless of course the US strings together some wins in matches that actually mean something.

I too am considering heading to Germany should the US advance. Would like to catch a few England games too if I can afford it.

i went to the Olymnpic Stadium in Munich a couple years ago. i'd love to see a game there sometime.

I was under the impression we are now in the top 10 in the world fifa rankings.

The U.S. is tied with Italy for 10th in the world. They got up to #7 over the summer.

England is currently #8.

some how I really doubt that the USA is as good as Italy.

Those rankings are crazy

Yeah thos rankings really aren't worth the paper they're written on although they are supposedly useful in determining seeding for the World Cup although I'm not sure about that either.
