Anyone watch the Chelsea/Bayern match yesterday?

I could only follow it online from work. Haven't seen any highlights or anything. I was curious how Chelsea would hold up without Mourinho there. It doesn't look like it phased them too much...but what was the Chelsea reaction after giving up that goal in the 90th minute to Ballack? Giving up two goals at home in the Champions League is huge. The second leg could be interesting when they return to Munich. Olympiastadion is a cool place.

I watched the last 15 minutes or so on my lunch break. The penalty was a joke. Ballack took a dive that Greg Louganis would be proud of but it provides Bayern with a chance. 2-0 or 3-1 and they are through to the semis. Chelsea were disappointed with the second goal but I think they're pretty confident going into Munich.

The real interesting bit was the speculation that Mourinho was relaying messages to the bench via the trainer. The trainer had a wool hat on that partially covered his ears and seemed to be fidgeting with his right ear at frequent intervals throughout the message leading some to speculate he had an earpiece. In addition, he kept writing messages on little pieces of paper and handing them over to the assistant manager. I don't think they'll be able to prove anything but I wouldn't be surprised if Mourinho was relaying instructions via an earpiece.

yeah, Dre...i saw that about the assistant.

...but UEFA has cleared them of everything and I doubt anything will happen.

I saw the first 20 minutes, then taped the rest. I had a big statistics test today, and had to study. I've heard that the late penalty was BS, but what can you do about it? Not much. I still think Chlesea goes through, but it did suddenly become more difficult.

superdales, yeah I'm happy. I hope that means more Chelsea jerseys, etc. here in the U.S. Shipping costs from Stanford Bridge many times double or more the price of an item.

The best news, though, is that next season is Chelsea's 100th anniversary, and while all of the uniforms will still be made by Umbro, they'll have a special badge and no kit sponsor. I'm going to being spending some cash next season.

The second leg is currently tied at 1. Pizarro just scored for Bayern to level the score after Lampard had given Chelsea the lead. Ballack has had some good chances.

Bayern just hit the crossbar. But getting two more goals seems like a difficult task this late in the game.

Bayern could have and you could make the argument should have won 4 or 5-2. They wasted a ton of opportunities.

Ollie, not at Stamford Bridge. I went to Seattle last August to watch Chelsea play Celtic. That was cool, but just not the same. At least guys like Terry and Lampard played. I wanted to see Duff, but he was coming off an injury. Kezman played, but Drogba didn't. I really enjoyed it.

I had class today, so I had to record the match. But I couldn't wait to find out the results. I'll watch it, anyway.

Well mate, although Im no Chelsea fan & admittidly since stadiums went to all seaters its become a bit quieter....you should still get over to the UK one time to catch a match. If you plan it for say, Feburary, you can get some great deals. Just head over for the weekend.

I should. I know a couple of Chelsea fans in Texas that go regularly, and I could maybe catch up with them.
